Wyalusing woman injured in accident
Kristie L. Wilbur, 29, of Wyalusing suffered a moderate injury in a recent three-vehicle accident in Wysox Township, police said.
The accident occurred as Wilbur, Troy resident Ryan D. Calkins and Ulster resident Michael R. Slocum were all driving west on U.S. Route 6 at 10:19 a.m. Thursday, police said.
Calkins, 33, had come to a stop due to heavy traffic in front of him, and Wilbur's vehicle, which was directly behind Calkins', had also come to a stop, police said.
Slocum did not notice that traffic in front of him was stopped and he rear-ended Wilbur's vehicle, police said.
Wilbur's vehicle was in turn pushed into the rear of Calkins' vehicle, police said.
Slocum, 20 and Calkins, 33, were uninjured in the accident, which occurred 180 feet northeast of Old U.S. Highway 6, police said.
Slocum was cited for driving at an unsafe speed, police said.
