Monroeton woman accused of theft
Alma Krystal Alvarado, 25, of Monroeton faces a third-degree felony charge of retail theft after she tried to steal approximately $4,000 worth of merchandise recently from the Kmart department store in Wysox Township, police said.
Alvarado was detained on Oct. 26 by the store's loss prevention manager when she was caught pushing two shopping carts filled with merchandise through the exit doors of the garden section of the store, police said.
Earlier that day, Alvarado had also stolen $328 worth of merchandise from an AT&T store in Wysox Township, state police said.
Alvarado was arraigned on Oct. 27 by Troy Magisterial District Judge Jonathan Wilcox.
Alvarado was then sent to the Bradford County jail in lieu of $65,000 bail.
Alvarado must attend a preliminary hearing before Wysox Magisterial District Judge Fred Wheaton on Tuesday.
Towanda woman is victim of theft
State police said they are trying to determine who used a 65-year-old Towanda woman's debit card to make purchases online.
The illegal purchases were made between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Sept. 14, police said. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police at Towanda at (570) 265-2186.
Wysox business is victim of theft
State police at Towanda said they are trying to determine who stole cash from Serpico's Pizza & Restaurant in Wysox Township.
The perpetrators fled by unknown means after committing the theft, which occurred between 12:15 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Aug. 27, state police at Towanda said.
Towanda teen cited for underage drinking
Macie Alexis Devine, 18, of Towanda has been cited for underage drinking following an incident that occurred at 11 a.m. on Oct. 22, state police said.

Car vandalized in North Towanda
A 2006 blue Chevrolet Cobalt coupe was scratched with a key down the passenger side recently when it was parked at the Guthrie Clinic on Colonial Drive in North Towanda Township, police said.
The vehicle belongs to a 22-year-old Rome woman, police said.
State police at Towanda said they are continuing to investigate the incident, which occurred between 3 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
A Sayre man was recently arrested by Athens Borough police on a charge of simple assault.
According to information filed with Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw, Scott R. Brewer, 25, was also charged with harassment.
Police said Brewer pulled a female victim out of a vehicle by the hair and struck her in the face with a beer can at a North Street location.
Brewer was arraigned Oct. 26 by Magisterial District Judge Jonathan Wilcox and remanded to the Bradford County jail in lieu of $40,000 bail. Brewer's preliminary hearing is scheduled for Nov. 6.
Vandalism reported at high school
State police at Towanda recently investigated an incident of criminal mischief at Wyalusing Valley High School.
According to information from state police, three individuals were accused of vandalizing the high school Oct. 26 by soaping windows. The vandalism was not destructive in nature, police said.
School officials declined prosecution and chose to handle the incident within the school district, police said.
