DUI charges

The following people were recently charged with driving while under the influence in Bradford County:

Doc Minford Daugherty, 65, of Towanda, by the state police, on Nov. 18, on Morgan Road in Standing Stone Township. Daugherty has also been charged with careless driving, failure to wear a seat belt, and operating a vehicle without valid inspection. A blood test later revealed that Daugherty's blood alcohol content was .126 percent on the day of his arrest. Daugherty has been sent a summons to appear before Magisterial District Judge Fred Wheaton on Jan. 22 for his preliminary hearing.

Terrance R. Maguire Jr., 40, of Towanda, by state police, on Nov. 25, on Route 220 in Ulster Township. Maguire has also been charged with careless driving. A blood alcohol test later revealed that Maguire had a blood alcohol content above the legal limit at the time of his arrest. Maguire has been sent a summons to appear before Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark Jan. 16 for a preliminary hearing.

Reginald Gregory Jackson, 50, of Binghamton, N.Y., by the state police, on Nov. 30, on State Route 6 in Wysox. Jackson, who lives on Margaret Street, has also been charged with reckless driving. Jackson later refused to submit to a blood test to determine his blood alcohol content. Police said Jackson was driving a 2012 Peterbilt water truck with Texas license plates. Jackson was arraigned on Nov. 30 and was incarcerated at Bradford County Correctional Facility after being unable to post $50,000 bail. A preliminary hearing was originally scheduled for Dec. 11, but has been postponed until a later date.
