An unidentified female driver struck a parked vehicle in the parking lot of Smokin' Joes in Wyalusing at 10:07 a.m. on Dec. 8. The driver fled the scene after the incident occurred, police said. According to police, the driver was operating a black Ford F150 with New York license plates when she hit an unattended 2000 Saturn parked next to her. Witnesses or anyone with information on the crash is asked to contact the state police in Towanda at (570) 265-2186.
Man accidentally shot in Rome
The state police at Towanda are investigating an incident in which a 37-year-old male was accidentally shot by an adult female between August and October 2012. The incident occurred in Rome Township. The victim treated the injury himself and did not seek medical attention, police said. The investigation into this incident is ongoing.
Levi Foux, 31, of Sugar Run was found possessing marijuana and drug paraphernalia on Nov. 20 by the state police. The discovery was made on Cotter Road, in Wilmot Township.
New Albany sex offender charged
David Kenneth Meyers, 50, of New Albany has recently been charged with failing to comply with sexual offender registration requirements. Meyers allegedly moved to New Albany from Delaware and did not register his change of address as required. Meyers was remanded to Bradford County Correctional Facility in lieu of $100,000 bail, police said. A preliminary hearing was held on Nov. 28 at which Meyers waived the charge into the Bradford County Court of Common Pleas.
New York man charged for inappropriate text messages to minor
Garrett Maurouard, 19, of Olean, N.Y. has recently been charged with possessing obscene and other sexual materials, unlawful contact with a minor, and corruption of minors. According to police, Maurouard was charged after an investigation determined that he sent an explicit photograph of himself to a 14 year old female and attempted to obtain explicit photographs from her. Pennsylvania State Police are currently working to find and extradite Maurouard from New York to face his charges.
Rome woman injured in domestic dispute
State police are investigating a report of simple assault on a 43-year-old female. The incident occurred in Rome Township between Aug. 1 and Aug. 3. According to police, the male suspect caused the victim to fracture her collarbone during an altercation at their residence. The investigation into this incident is currently ongoing.
Gas cans found in Windham Twp.
Two red plastic gas cans were found on Cadis Road in Windham Township on Dec. 13. Anyone who is missing two gas cans in the area can contact state police in Towanda at (570) 265-2186.
Theft occurs in Colley Twp.
Someone took a black and gray iPad from a chair sometime between 2:30 and 3:20 p.m. on Dec. 1, in the recreation center at the Red Rock Job Jorps Center on state Route 487, in Colley Township in Sullivan County, according to a report from state police.
