Disorderly conduct at hospital

Heather Lynn Wilcox, 41, of Wellsboro has recently been cited with disorderly conduct relating to a disturbance on Dec. 19 at Memorial Hospital in Towanda. According to police, Wilcox was observed by hospital security as she ran through the hospital yelling and complaining about staff. Wilcox was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark and remanded to the Bradford County Correctional Facility in lieu of $25,000 bail.

Drug charges

Michael David Garinger, 42, of Towanda and Joan Marie Garinger, 42, also of Towanda have both been charged with delivery or possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance, criminal conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance, receiving stolen property, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia relating to a Sept. 26 incident at Michael Garinger's house in Monroe Township.

According to police, while serving a bench warrant at the Garinger residence, marijuana, heroin, bath salts and prescription medication were found inside. A stolen Arctic Cat 4x4 ATV was also found in the garage of the residence. Both were arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark and remanded to Bradford County Correctional Facility in lieu of $50,000 bail.

Man charged with simple assault

Tylor Vanhousen, 20, of Sayre has recently been charged with simple assault, obstructing law enforcement and harassment relating to a Nov. 3 incident on Pine Street in Towanda. According to police, Vanhousen is accused of assaulting and kicking a 15-year-old male in the head. Vanhousen has been sent a summons to appear before Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark on Jan. 25 for a preliminary hearing.

Two hurt in crash

Two people suffered minor injuries in a one car accident at 10:50 a.m. on Dec. 23 on state Route 706 in Stevens Township. Dana L. Beyer, 43, of Wyalusing lost control of her 2009 Ford Escape for unknown reasons and traveled off the roadway, across a yard, through a parking lot and eventually hit a pine tree.

After striking the tree, the vehicle continued into a corn field and rolled several times. Thomas Beyer, 48, also of Wyalusing was the only passenger in the vehicle. Both occupants were wearing their seat belts and the Ford Escape sustained enough damage to be destroyed.

Police seek burglar

State police at Towanda are looking for an unknown actor or actors who recently broke into a vacant residence in Ulster Township.

According to information from state police, the actor entered the Noble Road house and cut all of the exposed copper piping out of it between Dec. 8 and Dec. 12. Anyone with information is asked to call state police at (570) 265-2186.

Athens man arrested

An Athens man was recently arrested by Waverly Village police on a warrant for charges stemming from a March 2011 domestic incident in the village.

According to information from village police, Lance A. Johnson, 29, is charged with menacing, unlawful imprisonment and harassment.

Police said Johnson physically restrained a female from leaving a room at a Chemung Street residence during the altercation. Johnson was located in Texas and returned to Waverly Dec. 19, police said.

Johnson was arraigned in Village of Waverly court Dec. 20 and remanded to the Tioga County Jail in lieu of $1,500 bail.

Family court warrant

A Waverly man was recently arrested by Tioga County, N.Y. sheriff's deputies on a warrant.

According to information from the sheriff's office, Steven J. Wheeler, 23, was arrested Dec. 19 for a violation of the New York state Family Court Act on a warrant issued out of Tioga County Family Court.

Wheeler was arraigned in Tioga County Court and remanded to the Tioga County Jail in lieu of $1,000 bail, police said. Wheeler is scheduled to appear in court Jan. 3.

Woman arrested following MVA investigation

A Waverly woman was recently arrested by Tioga County, N.Y. sheriff's deputies on two counts of engendering the welfare of a child.

According to information from the sheriff's office, Malinda N. Myers, 25, was arrested Dec. 23 following investigation into a motor vehicle accident on state route 17C in Barton.

Myers was arraigned in Town of Nichols court and was remanded to the Tioga County Jail in lieu of $2,500 bail or $5,000 bond. Myers is scheduled to appear in Town of Barton court Jan. 8.

Weapon possession charge

A Waverly man was recently arrested by Tioga County, N.Y. sheriff's deputies on a charge of criminal possession of a weapon.

According to information from the sheriff's office, Thomas F. Hatch Jr., 49, was arrested following investigation into a report of a disturbance at Hatch's residence on State Route 17C. Deputies recovered two handguns and one long gun from the residence, police said. Hatch has been convicted of a crime previously, police said.

Hatch was arraigned in Town of Nichols court and remanded to the Tioga County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail or $50,000 bond. Hatch is scheduled to appear in court Dec. 27.
