Water heater stolen

State police at Towanda seek an unknown actor or actors who removed a water heater from an Ulster Township residence.

According to information from state police, the actor broke into a vacant house on Noble Road between Dec. 17 and Dec. 20 and removed the water heater from the basement. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police at (570) 265-2186.

Utility vehicle damaged

State police seek an unknown actor or actors who damaged a utility vehicle in Ulster Township.

According to information from state police at Towanda, the perpetrator shot a hole in a Kubota utility vehicle while it was parked Dec. 6 in a wooded area north of Cash Creek Road during a hunting session. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police at (570) 265-2186.

Man charged with paraphernalia possession

State police recently charged an Athens man with possession of drug paraphernalia and public drunkenness during a Nov. 23 incident in Ulster Township.

According to information from state police at Towanda, Robert Wheeler, 56, was found walking along Route 220 at about 12 a.m. Nov. 23. Police said Wheeler was visibly intoxicated and was in possession of drug paraphernalia.

One hurt in Christmas Eve accident

State police at Towanda recently investigated a one-car motor vehicle accident in Ridgebury Township.

According to state police information, a 2005 Ford F-150 pickup truck operated by Walter Davis Jr., 68, of Gillett, was traveling east on Green Mountain Road when left the road at about 6:45 a.m. Dec. 24. The vehicle then traveled off the south side of the roadway and drove through an electronic fence before striking a tree, police said.

Police said the driver was not injured. Patricia A. Davis, 21, of Gillett, a passenger in the vehicle, had moderate injuries and was transported to Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre by Ridgebury Ambulance, police said. Both the driver and passenger wore seatbelts, police said.

The vehicle had disabling damage and was towed from the scene by Chilson Automotive, police said. The Ridgebury Volunteer Fire Company also assisted at the scene, police said.

Police cited Davis with failure to drive on the right side of the roadway, according to police.

Man charged with burglary

State police at Towanda recently charged a man with burglary in connection with a theft in Ridgebury Township.

According to information from state police, Joshua R. Uhl, 21, an inmate at the Bradford County Correctional Facility, was also charged with criminal trespass and theft by unlawful taking. Uhl was arraigned Dec. 26 by Magisterial District Judge Jonathan Wilcox, and bail was set at $55,000, police said.

According to police, Uhl entered a home on Centerville Road between Oct. 1 and Nov. 8 and removed jewelry and two bottles of prescription pain medication. An investigation revealed that Uhl sold some of the jewelry to a local pawn shop, police said.

Pipes removed from homes

State police at Towanda seek an unknown actor or actors who broke into residences in Sheshequin Township.

According to state police information, the perpetrator entered seasonal residences on Stone Chimney Road between Oct. 28 and Nov. 22. Police said the actor then removed wiring and copper pipes from the homes. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police at (570) 265-2186.

Gun stolen from airport

State police at Towanda are investigating the theft of a shotgun from the Bradford County Airport in Towanda Township.

According to state police information, the shotgun was removed from airport grounds between June and November. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police at (570) 265-2186.

Woman charged with marijuana possession

State police recently arrested a Granville Summit woman following a traffic stop.

According to information from state police at Towanda, Heather Ruth Selfridge, 19, was charged after police found a glass smoking pipe and small amount of marijuana in her vehicle Dec. 29. Officers stopped Selfridge following a traffic violation, police said.

Pipes stolen from construction site

State police at Towanda are investigating the theft of copper pipe from a construction site in Troy Borough.

According to state police information, an unknown actor or actors removed approximately 300 feet of pipe from the Route 6 site of the new Troy Community Hospital sometime on Dec. 26 or Dec. 27. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police at (570) 265-2186.

Man charged following DUI crash

A Cambridge Springs, Pa. man was recently arrested by state police at Towanda after he fled the scene of a one-car motor vehicle accident in Ulster Township.

According to state police information, Bobby G. Jones, 41, was operating a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck at about 6:40 p.m. Dec. 18 on Saco Road. Police said Jones lost control of the southbound vehicle, which then struck a utility pole on the east side of the road, traveled down an embankment and struck a tree. Jones then fled from the scene, police said.

Officers later discovered Jones' identity and arrested him for driving under the influence, police said. Jones had minor injuries in the accident, but was not transported to a hospital, police said.
