No injuries in one car crash
Wynn D. Witman, 25, of Nichols, N.Y. was involved in a one car accident at 3:50 p.m. on Feb. 19 on State Route 1049 in Pike Township. According to police, the crash occurred as Witman traveled north in his 2006 Honda Civic and lost control on a downhill section of road which was covered in snow. The vehicle then traveled across the south bound lane and into a berm on the west side of the road. The vehicle then struck a utility pole, shearing it in half, before coming to rest. Witman suffered no injuries and was not charged with any traffic citations. Witman was wearing his seat belt at the time of the accident.
Bullet hole found
A bullet hole has been noticed in the front window of a residence at 3815 Shaffers Notch Rd. in Terry Twp. The incident is believed to have taken place between Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. Anyone with information is asked to call state police at (570) 265-2186.
Police are investigating the theft of a blue 2006 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 2 wheel drive truck. The theft occurred in Litchfield Township on Dec. 17 between 5 a.m. and 8:30 a.m.. According to police, the vehicle was stolen from a 26-year-old male from Sayre, and later found crashed approximately two miles from where it was stolen. Theft at Dandy
Brandon Cicon, 18, has been charged with retail theft for a Feb. 10 incident at the Dandy Mini Mart in Wyalusing Township. According to police, after reviewing surveillance tapes, Cicon was seen placing a pair of PGE headphones inside of his jacket and exiting the store. The headphones were valued at $19.99.
Police are investigating an incident of mailbox vandalism that occurred between Feb. 10 and Feb. 14 at the 8100 block of State Route 467 in Pike Township. According to police, nothing was taken from the property and there was no other damage that occurred. Anyone with information is asked to call state police at (570) 265-2186.
A 43-year-old male from Windham Township has been the victim of identity theft. According to police, on Feb. 12 an unknown person used the victim's personal information to open an account with an electric company from Texas.
One car crash
James A. Yates, 64, of Sugar Run was not injured after being involved in a single car accident on Sugar Hill Rd. in Wilmot Township. According to police, Yates was traveling west in his 1999 Chevrolet Lumina when he lost control on a right hand curve in the roadway. The road was covered with snow and ice, police said. After losing control, the vehicle struck small trees and shrubbery causing disabling damage to the front of the car. Yates was not charged with any traffic citations and he was wearing a seat belt at the time of his accident.
