Man charged with harassment
Travis James Boher, 26, of Laceyville has been charged with harassment after striking a 54-year-old male in the face at the Cargill meat packing plant in Wyalusing Township on Feb. 1, according to state police.
A burglary has been reported on Painter Road in Warren Township between the dates of Dec. 13 and Dec. 14. According to police, an unknown person entered a residence and stole cash and a small fire safe. Anyone with information is asked to contact State Police in Towanda at (570) 256-2186 or anonymously at (800) 4-PA-TIPS. Up to a $2,000 reward is offered if information is provided which leads to arrest.
Sexual harassment reported
A 13-year-old Sugar Run female has been the victim of receiving sexual messages through her Facebook account, police said. The incident occurred on Feb. 2 and is being investigated by State Police in Towanda.
School break-in investigated
An unknown individual broke into the New Albany Elementary School between Jan. 3 and Jan. 22 and burglarized and vandalized the property. According to police, school maintenance employees discovered that copper pipe had been cut away and removed from the property. Numerous wires from electrical fuse boxes were also discovered missing, police said. The individual also intentionally damaged numerous items not relevant to the theft such as glass windows, telephones, and intercoms, police said. State Police in Towanda say the investigation into this report is ongoing.
No injuries reported in crash
James E. Belcher, 50, of Stevensville escaped injury Feb. 1 at 6 p.m. in a one-vehicle crash on Jackson Valley Road. in Warren Township. According to state police, Belcher moved over to let a car pass by which caused the plow on the front of his vehicle to strike a utility pole. Police said Belcher was wearing his seat belt at the time of the accident.
