Police Briefs 2/7/2013
State police are continuing to investigate the report of a burglary on Robinson Road in Rome Township which occurred in December. According to police, an unknown person entered an unoccupied seasonal residence without permission and scrapped metal which was stolen from the property.
Waverly woman charged
A Waverly woman was recently charged with unauthorized use of an automobile by Athens Township police.
According to information filed with Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw, Beth A. Bostwick, 31, operated a 1998 Dodge Durango without the consent of its owner on Jan. 20. Police said Bostwick removed the vehicle from a Farr Road residence and abandoned it on Ridgebury Road.
Bostwick's preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 5.
Man arrested on impersonation charge
A Waverly man was recently arrested by Tioga County, N.Y. sheriff's deputies on a charge of criminal impersonation.
According to information from the sheriff's office, Robert Dawson, 39, was arrested Feb. 1 following the issuing of a warrant for his arrest out of Town of Barton court.
Dawson was arraigned in Town of Barton Court and remanded to the Tioga County Jail in lieu of $1,000 bail or $2,000 bond. Dawson is scheduled to appear in court Feb. 5.
Waverly man arrested
A Waverly man was recently arrested by Tioga County, N.Y. sheriff's deputies on a charge of criminal possession of a hypodermic needle.
According to information from the sheriff's office, Shawn M. Fenton, 33, was charged following investigation into a suspicious condition at Fenton's residence on State Route 17C. Fenton was issued a ticket to appear in Town of Barton court Feb. 12.
