Wysox man faces drug charge
Kyle Richard Lane, 27, of Wysox is facing a drug-possession charge following a traffic stop at the intersection of Hawes Street and the Merrill Parkway in North Towanda Township, police said.
State police at Towanda said they pulled over a vehicle that Lane was in at 10:38 p.m. on Feb. 22 because the vehicle displayed a registration plate for another vehicle.
A controlled substance determined to be bath salts and multiple items of drug paraphernalia were observed within the vehicle, police said.
Man faces drug charge in Towanda Twp.
David Anthony Soprano, 50, of Waverly, N.Y., is facing a drug-possession charge following a traffic stop that occurred U.S. Route 220 in Towanda Township.
State police at Towanda said they pulled over the vehicle that Soprano was in at 2:54 p.m. on Feb. 19 for a traffic violation.
A white powdery substance that tested positive for bath salts was observed along with multiple items of drug paraphernalia, police said.
Two charged with shoplifting in Wysox Twp.
Samantha Jean Partridge of Towanda and Miranda Marie Hamilton of Laceyville are accused of shoplifting at the Tops supermarket in Wysox Township, police said.
Partridge, 23, tried to steal $32.55 worth of items from the store, while the 22-year-old Hamilton tried to steal $10.89 worth of items from the store, police said.
Partridge and Hamilton were both issued citations for retail theft following this incident, which occurred at 10:15 a.m. Thursday, state police at Towanda said.
Rome male charged with criminal mischief
Codey Lee Brown, 20, of Rome Borough has been charged with criminal mischief after he caused damage to a door of a Rome Borough residence, state police at Towanda said.
The incident occurred on Feb. 28 at a residence on Crimson Maple Drive, where two women live, police said.
Accident occurs in Wysox Twp.
No injuries occurred in a recent two-vehicle accident at the intersection of state Route 187 and Hillside Drive in Wysox Township, police said.
The crash took place at 6:40 a.m. on March 9 as Mavis A. Humphrey of Rome was driving south on state Route 187 and Taylor M. Keefe of Little Meadows, Pa., was stopped at a stop sign on Hillside Drive, at its intersection with Route 187, police said.
The 19-year-old Keefe tried to make a right-hand turn from Hillside Drive onto the southbound lane of Route 187, but pulled out directly in front of Humphrey's vehicle, police said.
Humphrey was unable to stop in time and her vehicle struck Keefe's vehicle, police said.
Keefe was cited for duties at stop signs.
No charges or traffic citations were filed against Humphrey, police said.
Humphrey's vehicle had to be towed from the scene, state police at Towanda said.
