Saw stolen in Colley Township

A Dewalt reciprocating saw has been reported stolen from the Red Rock Job Corps Center in Colley Township, Sullivan County, police said. The saw was discovered missing earlier this month, police said.

Scattering of rubbish occurs in Wysox

Someone illegally deposited trash on a 53-year-old Wyalusing man's property on Grimes Road in Wysox Township, state police said this week.

The trash, which was deposited sometime between 7 a.m. on Feb. 12 and 7 a.m. on Feb. 13, consisted of construction materials, including a sink and a vinyl shower insert, police said.

No one injured in Towanda Twp. crash

Jean L. Ackley, 31, of Towanda was uninjured in a recent motor vehicle accident on Liberty Corners Road in Towanda Township, police said.

Ackley, who was traveling too fast for the road conditions, lost control of her vehicle as she entered a left-hand curve in the roadway, police said.

The vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree head on, state police at Towanda said. The accident occurred at 8:17 a.m. Tuesday at the intersection with Woodside Road, police said.

Ackley was cited for driving at an unsafe speed, police said.

Sayre man faces drug charge

Timothy James Chilson, 28, of Sayre has been charged with conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance, police said.

The charge stems from a Nov. 27 incident in which Chilson and two other individuals were involved in the sale of Percocet pills to a fourth individual, police said.

The incident occurred in the parking lot of One Progress Plaza off Elizabeth Street in Towanda, according to the state police at Towanda.

Chilson was arraigned by Towanda Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark on Feb. 26. Chilson was then released on non-monetary bail.

Chilson's preliminary hearing, which was originally scheduled for March 6 in Towanda District Court, has been postponed to March 27.

Towanda woman accused of selling drug

Candace Marie Chilson, 32, of Towanda has been charged with delivery of a controlled substance, criminal use of a communication facility, and conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance, police said.

The charges stem from a Feb. 29 incident in which Chilson sold five Oxycodone pills to another individual at a residence on Second Street in Towanda, police said.

Chilson waived her preliminary hearing, which was scheduled for March 13 in Towanda District Court.

Therefore, Chilson's case has been transferred to the Bradford County Court of Common Pleas, where she is scheduled to be arraigned on April 15.

Wyalusing woman scammed

Police are continuing to investigate a report of a scam which targeted a 42-year-old Wyalusing woman on March 3 in Terry Township.

According to police, the victim was contacted by an unknown person about fictitious employment. She was then sent a check and instructed to send the majority of the money via Western Union to the Philippines.

Theft in Albany Twp.

State police have received a complaint from a 44-year-old Dushore woman regarding stolen property on French Creek Road in Albany Township.

According to police, five metal gates designed to keep animals in their stalls were stolen between Feb. 26 and March 16.
