Attempted burglary occurs in Rome Twp.
An attempted burglary recently occurred at a vacant residence at 2918 Glen Road in Rome Township, police said.
The residence is owned by a 55-year-old Wysox man, state police said.
The burglar or burglars smashed a rear window and a sliding glass door to break into the residence, but left without taking anything after an audible alarm went off, police said.
The attempted burglary occurred sometime between 10 p.m. on April 9 and 8 a.m. on April 10, state police said.

Monroeton man injured in motorcycle crash
Harry F. Johnson, 68, of Monroeton suffered a minor injury in a recent motorcycle accident in Wysox, state police said.
The accident occurred as Johnson, who was driving a 2009 Grandvista motorcycle east on U.S. Route 6, made a left turn onto state Route 187 North, police said.
Northbound traffic on Route 187 slowed in front of Johnson as the turn was made, police said.
Johnson applied his brakes abruptly and the motorcycle fell on its right side, police said.
Johnson was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, which occurred at 5:25 p.m. Wednesday, police said.
Johnson was cited for driving at an unsafe speed, state police at Towanda said.
Hit-and-run crash occurs in Elkland Twp.
State police at Laporte said they are investigating a hit-and-run accident that recently occurred at the intersection of state routes 4008 and 154 in Elkland Township, Sullivan County.
The hit-and-run driver might have been operating a small Jeep, truck or SUV, which crashed into a fenced pasture at 5 a.m. Thursday, causing damage to private property, police said. The vehicle likely sustained light to moderate damage to its front end, police said.
