Man accused of stealing jewelry from Sayre Walmart
Timothy Frances Fenster, 28, of Hanover Township, Pa., is accused of stealing $816 worth of jewelry recently from the Walmart at 1887 Elmira St., Sayre, police said.
Fenster broke into a jewelry display spinner inside the store at 9:17 a.m. on March 26, and stole 13 pieces of jewelry from the display, Athens Township police said.
Fenster has been charged with the first-degree misdemeanors of retail theft and receiving stolen property, police said.
Fenster must face the charges at a preliminary hearing on April 29 in Athens District Court.
Man charged with aggravated assault in Sayre
Steven J. Wheeler, 24, of Waverly, N.Y., has been charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, and disorderly conduct, police said.
The charges stem from a March 31 incident at the Lehigh Tavern in Sayre, police said. During the incident, Wheeler attacked a Thomas J. Simonds by punching him in the side of his face, police said. The punch knocked Simonds to the floor, and then Wheeler punched Simonds a few times while he was on the ground, police said.
Simonds suffered a broken jaw and had multiple teeth knocked out, Sayre police said.
Wheeler was arraigned in district court and then sent to the Bradford County jail in lieu of $25,000 bail.
Towanda woman charged with retail theft
Keisha Marie Castle, 23, of Towanda is accused of shoplifting $208.09 worth of merchandise recently from the Walmart store at 1887 Elmira St., Sayre, police said.
Castle stole the items at 3:21 p.m. on March 31, Athens Township police said.
As a result of this incident, Castle was charged with the first-degree misdemeanor of retail theft, police said.
Theft occurs in Standing Stone Twp.
State police said they are trying to find out who stole a well pump from a vacant lot in the 1800 block of River Road in Standing Stone Township.
The theft occurred sometime between Nov. 18 and April 3, state police said.
The pump belongs to Adrianne Canfield of Rockledge, Fla., police said.

Columbia Cross Roads man charged with retail theft
Daniel Allen Heeman, 31, of Columbia Cross Roads has been charged with the first-degree misdemeanor of retail theft, Athens Township police said.
The charge stems from an April 1 shoplifting incident in which Heeman stole $653.18 worth of merchandise from the Walmart store at 1887 Elmira St., Sayre, police said.
Man waives hearing on escape charge
Jared Dale Jayne, 19, of Four Winds Lane, Canton, recently waived his preliminary hearing on an escape charge to the Bradford County Court of Common Pleas, according to Magisterial District Judge Jonathan Wilcox of Troy.
According to court papers, he fled a residence on Four Winds Lane in Canton Township, after being detained and advised that he was under arrest for a PFA violation and a county bench warrant. He was taken into custody later, when found in a nearby shed.
Man pleads in harassment case
Michael Anthony Snay, 41, of Gillett, was recently given credit for time served after pleading guilty to a misdemeanor of the third degree for harassment for an incident that took place March 19 on Moonlight Drive in Wells Township, according to Magisterial District Judge Jonathan Wilcox.
According to court papers, Snay struck Bonnie Jean Snay, no age given, about the face and head and threw her to the floor, by her hair. He also kicked her on the right side of the head with his boots.
Man faces hearing on theft
Travis James Ayres, 20, of Troy, faces a preliminary hearing at 1 p.m. April 16 before Magisterial District Judge Jonathan Wilcox of Troy on charges of theft by unlawful taking or disposition and receiving stolen property for an incident that took place sometime between 12:01 a.m. and 11:59 p.m. Oct. 22 in a driveway off Doty Hill Road in South Creek Township, according to court papers.
The court papers note that Ayres is accused of the theft of a Pennsylvania registration plate worth $36 belonging to Heather Elaine Lee, no age or address given. Police were told that Ayres pulled next to a driveway on Doty Hill Road and removed the stolen plate from a white Dodge Stratus.
The following people were recently charged with driving while under the influence in Bradford County:
Jeffrey W. Hoey, 42, of Athens, by the Sayre police, on March 22, on N. Thomas Avenue, Sayre. A blood test showed that Hoey's blood alcohol content was .31 percent on the day of his arrest. The charge was filed after Hoey was involved in a one-vehicle accident while intoxicated.
Jesse James Carling, 31, of Athens, by the Athens Township Police Department, on March 22, along state Route 199, Athens. A blood test revealed that Carling's blood alcohol content was .26 percent on the day of his arrest.
