Man charged with harassment

State police at Towanda recently charged an Athens man with harassment following an incident in Litchfield Township.

According to information from state police, Charles Talada, 42, kicked a female victim in the hand during a March 30 argument at a Sportsman's Road location. Talada was charged in district court, police said.

Criminal mischief citation issued

State police recently cited a man with harassment after breaking a door in Ulster Township.

According to information from state police at Towanda, Patrick Michael Firestine, 19, broke the glass of a French door March 23 at a Totem Street residence, then punched and broke a wall-mounted thermostat.

Sayre man charged

Sayre borough police recently charged a Sayre man with furnishing liquor to a minor.

According to information filed with Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw, Erick Eugene Barnes, 41, provided alcoholic beverages to an 18-year-old Feb. 21 at his Iroquois Street residence.

Barnes' preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 23.

Disorderly conduct charge

Sayre Borough police recently charged a Sayre man with disorderly conduct.

According to papers filed with Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw, Miner Leroy Farr, 40, was also charged with public drunkenness.

Police said Farr caused a disturbance March 30 at the Hotel Bradford on North Thomas Avenue, yelled obscenities and punched a telephone pole at the edge of the road.

Farr's preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 23.

Woman charged with theft

An Owego, N.Y. woman was recently charged with theft by unlawful taking by Sayre Borough police.

According to information filed with Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw, Stephanie Rae Craft, 29, was also charged with receiving stolen property.

Police said Craft, a teller at the Guthrie Federal Credit Union on North Elmer Avenue at the time, removed $267.32 in cash from a drawer and placed the money in her purse March 22.

Craft's preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 23.

Sayre woman charged with child endangerment

A Sayre woman was recently charged with leaving an unattended child in a motor vehicle by Athens Township police.

According to papers filed with Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw, Nichole Marie Dewitt, 24, was also charged with endangering the welfare of a child.

Police said Dewitt left a one-year-old child unattended in a motor vehicle Feb. 28 in the parking lot of the Walmart on Elmira Street.

Dewitt's preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 23.

Man charged with assault

A Bath, N.Y. man was recently charged with two counts of simple assault by Athens Township police.

According to information filed with Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw, Ian Kelley, 21, was also charged with two counts of harassment by physical contact and one count of disorderly conduct.

Police said Kelley threw a female victim to the ground during a March 12 argument, then later choked her in a vehicle and kicked her in the face. Police said the victim received a cut lip, lacerated eyebrow, black eye, fractured right pinky finger and shoulder pain.

Kelley's preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 23.
