Man charged with burglary

Matthew John Jenner, 29, of New Albany, faces a preliminary hearing at 1 p.m., July 3 before Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark of Towanda on charges of burglary, theft by unlawful taking or disposition, criminal mischief, criminal trespass, operating a motor vehicle with expired registration, and operating a motor vehicle with an expired driver's license, according to court papers.

The papers note that the charges are in connection with an incident that took place May 25 on Long Mary Road in Terry Township.

According to an affidavit, Jenner was caught on camera, first breaking a lock and chain from the secured gate at the end of a dirt driveway, and then using his vehicle, which was also clearly visible on the pictures, to ram through the gate. He was startled by a neighbor, and fled the scene before he could complete the burglary, the affidavit notes.

Arrest warrant issued

Magisterial District Judge Fred Wheaton of Wysox said an arrest warrant was issued for Elizabeth Anne Morehart, 40, of Montoursville, who has been charged with delivery of and possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance, criminal conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance, and criminal use of a communication facility, according to court papers.

The papers note that Morehart conspired with Lee Thompson, no age or address given, in delivering Percocet tablets on May 14 at the Tops Parking Lot along Route 6 in Bradford County.

Man faces hearing

Cody West Bedell, 18, of Laceyville, faces a preliminary hearing at 1:15 p.m. July 17 before Magisterial District Judge Fred Wheaton of Wysox on two counts of a violation of the controlled substance, drug, device, and cosmetic act for an incident Jan. 20 at Wyalusing Valley Junior-Senior High School in Wyalusing Township, according to court papers.

The papers note that Bedell possessed drug paraphernalia, a glass smoking device, and green vegetable matter, which tested positive for the synthetic cannaboid.

Lawn mower taken

State police at Towanda said someone removed a Briggs and Stratton push lawn mower from rental property owned by a 33-year-old Troy man between 10 a.m. June 1 and 8 p.m. June 3 at DeMorgan Acres in Canton Township.

Mailbox vandalized

State police at Towanda said someone damaged/vandalized the mailbox of a 60-year-old Rome Township man by striking it with an unknown instrument and then fled in an unknown direction between 9:30 a.m. May 25 and 9 p.m. May 26 on Shoemaker Road in Rome Township.

Pills stolen

State police at Towanda said someone stole prescription pills from an 86-year-old man and a 70-year-old woman between May 23-28 on Town and Country Lane in Troy Township.

Man cited

State police at Mansfield said Bryan David Talada, 20, of Gillett was cited for underage consumption at 10:48 a.m. June 16 on Church Street in Jackson Township, Tioga County, Pa.

No one injured

State police at Towanda said no injuries were reported in a two-vehicle accident at 3:49 p.m. May 29 on Wyalusing/New Albany Road in Albany Township.

Drivers involved in the accident were Timothy L. Kuntz, 18, of Wyalusing, and Jessica L. Gee, 25, of Towanda, police said.

Police said Gee was traveling east and stopped for a vehicle that was making a left turn into a driveway, and Kuntz failed to stop in time and struck the rear of her vehicle.

Kuntz was charged with "following too closely," police said.

Minor injury in cow/car collision

State police at Towanda said Phillip L. Wood, 81, of Alba had a minor injury when his Buick Century struck a cow in the middle of the northbound lane on Route 14 at 9:20 p.m. June 21 in Canton Township.

Police said he was taken to Robert Packer Hospital.

Tires punctured

State police at Mansfield said that two tires on the car of Martin G. Segur, 54, of Canton were punctured with a knife between 2 a.m. and 9 a.m. June 24 on Meade Street in Roaring Branch, Union Township, Tioga County, Pa.

Burglary attempted

State police at Towanda said someone tried to gain access to the Warren Center Store at 2:35 a.m. June 26 in Warren Center by using an unknown instrument to smash the front door window and prying the door jamb.

A concerned resident then yelled at and alarmed the burglars, police said. Police said the resident saw the individuals trying to enter the store, and they fled on foot after failing to gain access.

Charges to be filed

State police at Towanda said charges will be filed in District Court 42-3-01 after illegal narcotics and drug paraphernalia were found on Quintin Ray Wandell, 19, of Gillett, at 1:16 a.m. June 26 at Troy Community Hospital in Troy.

Police said troopers were dispatched to the hospital for the report of an adult male wanting the police contacted in regard to him being arrested. Once troopers arrived, it was determined that he was underage and was under the influence of alcohol, police said.

Plants damaged

A Troy man told state police at Towanda that someone damaged about six of his sunflower plants and 18 of his cucumber plants between 8 a.m. and noon June 24 in the 2300 block of Sylvania Road in the township.

Police said nothing was taken from the property and no other damage occurred.

Man charged

State police at Mansfield said Bryan David Talada, 20, of Gillett, was charged through District Court 04-3-01 with summary harassment and underage drinking following an incident that occurred between 7 p.m. and 7:25 p.m. June 20 at 35 Church St. in Jackson Township, Tioga County, Pa.

Police said he entered a verbal altercation with the victim, Earl Grant Talada, 68, of Millerton, which turned physical when Bryan Talada shoved Earl Talada. During the initial investigation, it was discovered that Bryan Talada was intoxicated at the time of the incident and under the age of 21, police said.

Woman charged

State police at Mansfield said charges were prepared in District Court 04-3-03 against Samantha Colton, 21, of Columbia Cross Roads for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and possession of drug paraphernalia for an incident around 2 p.m. June 4 at 385 Kennedy Rd., Rutland Township, Tioga County, Pa.

Police said she was transported to Tioga County Prison.

According to police, she took a 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt belonging to the victim, Randle Colton, 56, of Columbia Cross Roads, without his consent, and she was located driving the vehicle on North Williamson Road in Covington Township, Tioga County. Police said she was taken into custody. Empty plastic bindles which previously contained suspected heroin were found in plain view in the bottom of the driver's side door, police said.
