Towanda man faces drug, theft charges
Shawn Michael Leiser, 38, of Towanda has been charged with delivery or possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, and theft by unlawful taking or disposition, police said.
State police said they executed a search warrant on June 12 on Leiser's pickup truck and found 1.7 grams of methamphetamine, a digital scale, a partially burnt marijuana cigarette, and other drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.
Police said they conducted the search after arresting Leiser in the theft of several scrap metal items in Wysox Township. State police said they obtained the search warrant after observing a blue/yellow glass smoking device in the pickup truck.
The scrap metal was stolen from land located behind the Lewis Machine/Gun shop on U.S. Route 6, police said.
Leiser was also charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana for personal use, and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.
Ryan James Allis, 18, of Towanda was also charged in the theft of the scrap metal, state police said. Allis was charged with theft by unlawful taking or disposition, police said.
Both Leiser and Allis have waived their preliminary hearings, which were scheduled to take place in Wysox District Court.
Therefore, Leiser's and Allis' court cases have been transferred to the Court of Common Pleas of Bradford County.
