Two injured in Towanda Twp. accident

An 11-year-old boy suffered a moderate injury in a motor vehicle accident on U.S. Route 220 in Towanda Township, police said.

The accident occurred at 1:10 p.m. on July 5, as Charla M. Bump of Towanda was stopped in the southbound lane of Route 220, waiting to turn left into a driveway, police said.

At the time, Terry A. Dippery of Lewistown, Pa., was traveling south on Route 220 and was approaching Bump's vehicle, police said.

Dippery, 46, became distracted and his vehicle struck the rear of Bump's vehicle, police said.

Bump's vehicle was pushed forward and struck a dirt embankment off the east side of the road, police said.

The 11-year-old boy who was injured was a passenger in Bump's vehicle, police said.

Bump, 60, suffered a minor injury, and Dippery was uninjured, police said.

Dippery was cited for careless driving, police said. Bump was cited for not having the 11-year-old boy secured in a seat belt, according to the state police at Towanda.

The accident occurred south of Patton Hill Road, police said.

Theft occurs in Asylum Twp.

State police said they are trying to determine who stole the registration plate from a 22-year-old Wyalusing man's motorcycle, which was parked in the parking lot of M.R. Dirt Inc. in Asylum Township.

The theft occurred between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. on July 5, police said.

Theft occurs in Wilmot Twp.

State police said they are trying to determine who stole hand tools from a tool box on a PennDOT tractor mower in Wilmot Township.

The theft occurred on July 6 along state Route 2009, police said.

Burglary occurs in Terry Twp.

A burglary occurred recently at the residence of 73-year-old man and a 70-year-old woman, located on Paradise Road in Terry Township, police said.

Someone entered the residence between 9:30 a.m. on June 21 and 3:30 p.m. on July 10 and stole money, jewelry and alcohol, police said.

Monroeton man was victim of $9,300 fraud

A 43-year-old Monroeton man was the victim of fraud, police said.

The victim responded to an Ebay posting for an ATV, police said. The victim wire transferred $9,300 to an unknown person in New York state, police said.

The Ebay posting was fraudulent, state police said.

This incident occurred between June 20 and June 29, police said.

Burglary occurs in Warren Twp.

A burglary recently occurred at a 70-year-old man's garage in the 7700 block of LeRaysville Road in Warren Township, police said.

Between noon on July 6 and 9 p.m. on July 9, burglars broke into the main door of the garage, police said.

Once inside, the burglars stole a dolly, a compressor, a wrench set, and numerous other tools and items, police said.

The total value of the stolen items is approximately $1,300, state police said.

The following person was arrested for driving under the influence in Bradford County:

Thomas P. Latini, 56, of Towanda, by the state police, on July 6 at the intersection of U.S. Route 220 and Patterson Boulevard in North Towanda Township.
