Dushore man charged with assault
Eugene Vanderpool, 35, of Dushore has been charged with simple assault, police said.
The charge stems from an incident in which Vanderpool subjected a 23-year-old Dushore woman to physical contact during an argument, police said.
The incident occurred sometime between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m. on July 11 in Dushore, police said.
Vanderpool's preliminary hearing in Laporte District Court, which was originally scheduled for July 18, has been continued to July 31.
Items stolen in Wysox Twp.
State police said they are trying to determine who stole a black lunch box in Wysox Township, which contained a DuPont ID badge, an iPod Touch, and other items, police said.
The lunch box was stolen sometime between 5:45 p.m. and 6:05 p.m. on July 13 from a parked vehicle in the parking lot of the Kmart department store in Wysox Township, police said.
The lunch box belongs to a 51-year-old Towanda man, police said.
