DUI charge pending

Thomas Craven, 57, was arrested on July 6 for suspicion of DUI after state police stopped his vehicle for a traffic violation on State Route 6 at the intersection with Diner Road in Tuscarora Township.

According to police, charges are pending on the results of a blood test.

LeRaysville man fires gun into neighbors property

Christopher Adams, 26, of LeRaysville has recently been charged with reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct relating to a June 18 incident on Mill Creek Road in Stevens Township.

According to police, Adams was firing an AK-47 rifle on his property and neighbors heard several rounds go past their house.

Adams has been sent a summons to appear before Magisterial District Judge Fred Wheaton on Aug. 6 for a preliminary hearing.

Hit-and-run suspect located

Waverly village police recently ticketed an Elmira, N.Y. man following investigation into a July 4 hit-and-run motor vehicle accident.

According to information from village police, Robert A. Horton, 37, was issued tickets for following too closely, leaving the scene of a property damage motor vehicle accident and operating a motor vehicle without a license.

Police said Horton fled the scene of the accident, which occurred on Broad Street in front of Ted Clark's Busy Market. Horton was located July 6 at the Valley Fireworks in Sayre after police posted a photo of him from the store's surveillance cameras on its Facebook page, police said.

Public drunkenness charge

An Athens man was recently arrested by Sayre Borough police on a charge of public drunkenness.

According to information filed with Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw, Jason Edward Nogar, 31, was also charged with disorderly conduct and possession of a small amount of marijuana.

Police said Nogar punched a sign, yelled obscenities and spit on vehicles at about 1:55 a.m. July 7 on Desmond Street. Police located a small bag of marijuana on Nogar's person, police said.

Nogar was arraigned July 7 and remanded to the Bradford County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail. Nogar's preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 23.

Sayre man arrested

A Sayre man was recently arrested by borough police on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to papers filed with Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw, Jeremy D. Firestine, 41, was also charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana.

Police said officers observed Firestine, a passenger in a vehicle parked on North Lehigh Avenue, attempting to light a marijuana pipe at about 1:30 a.m. July 7.

Firestine was arraigned July 7 and remanded to the Bradford County Jail in lieu of $1,000 bail. Firestine's preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 23.

Wysox man charged with assault

A Wysox man was recently charged with simple assault by Athens Township police.

According to information filed with Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw, John Caleb Boone, 18, was also charged with harassment by physical contact.

Police said Boone choked, shoved and punched a 17-year-old female during a June 30 altercation in the township.

Boone's preliminary hearing is scheduled for Aug. 6.

Woman charged with theft

An Athens woman was recently charged with retail theft by Athens Township police.

According to papers filed with Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw, Lindsey Louise Polzella, 27, was also charged with receiving stolen property.

Police said Polzella removed merchandise totaling $27.49 from the Tops supermarket on Elmira Street and attempted to return it for cash June 26.

Polzella's preliminary hearing is scheduled for Aug. 6.

Two charged with theft

Athens Township police recently charged a man and a woman following an incident at the Walmart on Elmira Street.

According to information filed with Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw, Amber Sue Chandler, 23, of Lockwood, N.Y., was charged with retail theft and receiving stolen property. Police said Cody Allen Ede, 24, of Sayre, was charged with criminal conspiracy to commit the crimes of retail theft and receiving stolen property.

Police said Ede and Chandler removed a television valued at $278 from the store June 29.

Chandler and Ede are each scheduled to face preliminary hearings Aug. 6.

Criminal mischief occurs in Wysox Twp.

State police said they are trying to determine who slashed a number of tires that were mounted on work trucks at the Sherwood Groves auto dealership in Wysox Township.

This criminal mischief occurred between 8 p.m. on June 25 and noon on June 26, state police said.

Vehicle strikes tree in Forks Twp.

Daniel J. Kuligowski, 66, of Dallas, Pa., suffered a minor injury in a motor vehicle accident that took place on June 30 in Forks Township, Sullivan County, police said.

Kuligowski reported that he swerved to miss a deer on a right curve on Rock Run Road, which caused his vehicle to leave the roadway and strike a tree, according to the state police at Laporte.

Hit-and-run crash occurs in Dushore

A hit-and-run driver struck a 2008 Honda Accord at 11:30 a.m. on June 20 when it was parked in the Homer P. Dean Funeral Home's lot in Dushore, Sullivan County, police said.

Vehicle stolen in Wysox Twp.

State police at Towanda said they are trying to determine who stole a green 2003 Chevrolet Tracker from Jack Williams Garage in Wysox.

The vehicle had just been repaired and the garage was waiting for the owners to pick it up when it was stolen, police said.

The theft occurred between 6:30 p.m. on June 20 and 5:50 a.m. on June 21, state police at Towanda said.

The vehicle was bearing Pennsylvania registration GMC7674 at the time of the theft, police said.

Hit-and-run crash occurs in Cherry Twp.

A hit-and-run driver struck a 1993 Honda Del Sol in its rear end at 4 p.m. on June 24, when it was parked in Cherry Township, police said.

The accident occurred in the Dollar General's lot along U.S. Route 220, state police said.

Theft occurs in Lopez

Someone stole a pair of eyeglasses, three antique comic books, and a pair of black shoes from a 53-year-old Lopez man, police said.

The theft occurred sometime between May 12 and July 4 at 36 Winery Road in Lopez, state police at Laporte said.

Towanda residents cited for harassment

Timothy Short, 36, of Towanda and Elizabeth Benjamin, 27, of Towanda were charged with harassment after they engaged in a physical altercation at a location along Overton Road in Dushore, police said.

The incident occurred sometime between 2:30 a.m. and 3:30 a.m. on June 30, state police at Laporte said.

Burglary occurs in Cherry Twp.

A burglary occurred at a residence along Drake Road in Cherry Township, Sullivan County, police said.

The residence is owned by Wayne L. Miller Jr. of Cherry Township, police said.

The burglar or burglars entered the residence and stole several guns, police said. The burglary occurred between 6 a.m. on June 15 and 9 a.m. on June 16, state police said.

DUI charges

The following people were recently charged with driving while under the influence in Bradford County:

Bryan Tyler Jenner, 19, of Wyalusing, by state police, on May 18, at the Dandy Mini Mart in Camptown. Jenner has also been charged with careless driving and driving an unsafe vehicle. A blood alcohol test later revealed that Jenner's blood alcohol content was .125 percent on the day of his arrest. Jenner has been sent a summons to appear before Magisterial District Judge Fred Wheaton on Aug. 6 for a preliminary hearing.

Tyler A. Belles, 21, of Athens, by Athens Township police, on May 23, on Front Street in Athens. Belles has also been charged with failure to dim his high beams. A blood alcohol test later revealed that Belles' blood alcohol content was .11 percent on the day of his arrest. Belles has been sent a summons to appear Aug. 6 before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw for a preliminary hearing.

Bruce Edward Cox, 26, of 296 Troy St., Canton, by Canton Borough police for an incident at 7:46 p.m. May 28 on Sullivan Street at the Canton red light in Canton Borough.

Cox was also charged with possessing, with intent to use, a glass marijuana pipe and a marijuana grinder; possessing an open alcoholic beverage container while driving a vehicle; and operating a vehicle when the vehicle's registration was suspended, according to court papers filed with the office of Magisterial District Judge Jonathan Wilcox of Troy.

Cox was found with his head tilted back against the driver's seat and unresponsive, according to an affidavit.

He faces a preliminary hearing before Wilcox at 2 p.m. July 10.

Virgil Wayne Ivy, 50, of 127 Walsh Ln., Gillett, by Pennsylvania State police following a one-vehicle crash on Route 6, west of Bronson Road, at 6:53 p.m. June 1 in Troy Township.

Ivy was also charged with a lane violation and careless driving, according to court papers filed with the office of Magisterial District Judge Jonathan Wilcox of Troy.

He faces a preliminary hearing before Wilcox at 1 p.m. July 17.

Duane Lee Queen, Jr., 18, of 325 Buck Rd., Troy, by Pennsylvania State police, for a one-vehicle crash May 31 on Jenkins Road, Springfield Township.

Queen is also charged with a speeding violation, careless driving, and purchase, consumption, possession or transportation of liquor or malt or brewed beverages, according to court papers filed with the office of Magisterial District Judge Jonathan Wilcox of Troy.

Queen faces a preliminary hearing before Wilcox at 1 p.m. Aug. 7.

Russell McHenry Jr., 50, of Dushore was recently arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol after he was pulled over for an expired registration, police said.

The traffic stop occurred at approximately 9:57 p.m. Saturday on U.S. Route 220 in Dushore Borough, police said.

The filing of the DUI charge is pending the result of a blood test, state police at Laporte said.

The following person was recently charged with driving while under the influence in Sullivan County.

Heather Margret Williamson, 27, of Wyalusing, by the state police, on state Route 487 in Cherry Township. The amount of alcohol in Williamson's blood was over the legal limit.
