Woman injured in Troy Twp. crash

Michele J. Robbins, 43, of Troy suffered a moderate injury when she was involved in motor vehicle accident recently on state Route 14 in Troy Township, police said.

The accident occurred at 7:39 a.m. Thursday as Robbins was driving south on Route 14 and 59-year-old Kurt L. Neufer was driving north on Route 14, police said.

Robbins received a call on her cell phone and in her attempt to answer it, the phone fell out of her hand and onto the floor, police said. When she tried to pick up the phone, her vehicle traveled into the northbound lane and collided with Neufer's Chevrolet Silverado, state police said.

Neufer was uninjured, police said.

Robbins was cited for careless driving, state police at Towanda said.

Vandalism occurs in Overton Twp.

Someone recently vandalized a light on a sign at Berryfields Farm in Overton Township, police said.

The vandalism occurred between Sept. 1 and Sept. 16, state police said.

Man charged with aggravated assault in Tuscarora Twp.

Emery Frederick Johnson, 26, of Monroeton RR1 has been charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, and harassment, police said.

The charges stem from an incident in which Johnson got into an argument with his girlfriend, Melinda Littick, and assaulted her, police said.

Littick told police that Johnson smashed her head against a car window, causing the window to shatter, police said.

Littick told police that Johnson then threw her onto a paved roadway, causing her head to come in contact with the road surface, police said.

Littick was treated for her injuries at Tyler Memorial Hospital, police said. Littick had major swelling about her face and a deep cut to the left side of her forehead and upper lip, police said. Littick also had bruises on her forehead and face, police said.

The incident occurred at approximately 10:30 p.m. on Sept. 7 at a residence on Cornell Road in Tuscarora Township, according to the state police at Towanda.

A warrant has been issued for Johnson's arrest.

LeRaysville woman loses $3,995 in fraud

A 36-year-old LeRaysville woman recently lost $3,995 due to fraud, police said.

Sometime between June 2 and June 7, the woman responded via email to a Craigslist posting for a 2003 Ford SUV for sale, police said.

The suspects deceived the victim into thinking she was wiring funds for payment to EBay Motors escrow account, where it would be safe until she received the truck, police said.

The account never existed, and she never received the truck, police said.

The victim lost $3,995 in this fraud scheme, according to the state police at Towanda.

Antiques stolen in Asylum Twp.

Someone stole several antique toys from the kitchen of an 87-year-old man, who lives on West Macedonia Road in Asylum township, police said.

The toys were stolen between Jan. 5 and March 29, state police said in a recent press release.

DUI charges

The following person was recently charged with DUI in Bradford County:

Eugene John Barrett Jr., 51, of Towanda, by the state police, on Sept. 13 on U.S. Route 220 in Monroe Township. The DUI charge stems from a motor vehicle accident that occurred when Barrett's vehicle struck the rear of another in a work zone. No injuries were reported.
