DUI charges:

The following persons were charged with driving while under the influence in Bradford County:

Daniel Kelly Walker, 49, of Wyalusing, has been charged by Pennsylvania State Police with Driving Under the Influence stemming from an incident at 6:50 p.m. on July 16 on Route 409 in Wyalusing Township.

Mikal Lee Gardner, 30, of Mansfield, has been charged by Pennsylvania State Police with Driving Under the Influence stemming from an incident at 2:17 a.m. on March 30 in Tuscarora Township.

Caleb Jon Rundle, 25, of McCook, Neb., has been charged by Pennsylvania State Police with Driving Under the Influence stemming from an incident at 12:48 a.m. on Aug. 19 in Standing Stone Township.

Jamie Lynn Douglas, 39, of Towanda, has been charged by Pennsylvania State Police with Driving Under the Influence stemming from an incident at 2:17 a.m. on Aug. 11 in Wysox Township.

Michelle Lee McClung, 25, of Wyalusing has been charged by Pennsylvania State Police with Driving Under the Influence stemming from an incident at 12:05 a.m. on July 5 in Wyalusing Township.

Edgardo Enrique Sorto, 35, of LeRaysville has been charged by Pennsylvania State Police with Driving Under the Influence stemming from an incident at 10:09 p.m. on July 22 in LeRaysville.

Garrett Andrew Haden, 22, of Towanda, has been charged by Pennsylvania State Police with Driving Under the Influence stemming from an incident at 1:40 a.m. on Aug. 10 in Wysox.

John Anthony Davidson Jr., 32, of Elmira, N.Y., has been charged by Pennsylvania State Police with Driving Under the Influence stemming from an incident at 10:49 p.m. on July 7 in Wyalusing Borough.

Kenneth Paul Dalton, 49, of Wysox, has been charged by Pennsylvania State Police with Driving Under the Influence stemming from an incident at 7:54 p.m. on July 25 in Wysox.

Amy Lynn Daniels, 44, of Sylvania, by state police, on July 7, on Route 220 in Athens Township. Daniels has also been charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, speeding and careless driving. A blood test revealed the presence of marijuana in Daniels' blood on the day of her arrest. Daniels has been sent a summons to appear before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw Oct. 2 for a preliminary hearing.

Sarah E. Thomas, 23, of Ulster, by the state police, on Friday on U.S. Route 6 in North Towanda Township. State police at Towanda said they pulled over Thomas, who lives on Comstock Road, after she crossed Route 6's center line and nearly struck a state police cruiser.

Sayre man charged

Sayre police recently charged a Sayre man with possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to information filed with Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw, Michael D. Roberts, 26, was charged after police responded to an incident in which Roberts smoked synthetic marijuana and then had chest pains and difficulty breathing.

Police said a package of synthetic marijuana and a can of beer Roberts used to smoke out of were recovered from the scene. Roberts was then transported to Robert Packer Hospital for treatment, police said.

Roberts' preliminary hearing is scheduled for Oct. 9.

Police arrest Sayre man

A Sayre man was recently arrested by Athens Township police on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to papers filed with Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw, Bradley John Sampson, 18, was also charged with underage consumption of alcoholic beverages.

Police said Sampson was arrested after officers responded to a complaint from a neighbor of the Markham Road residence where Sampson was located July 6. Police said several empty bottles of beer, a water bong, metal tubes, scissors and a knife with burnt residue on them, a cigar cutter and several wires used for cleaning paraphernalia were seized from a bedroom at the residence.

Sampson's preliminary hearing is scheduled for Oct. 9.

Man charged with harassment

A New Albany man was recently charged with harassment by state police.

According to information from state police at Towanda, Dustin Michael Owen, 27, was charged after he pushed a female victim during an argument Sept. 4 at an Albany Township location.

Police investigating burglary

Pennsylvania State Police at Towanda are investigating a burglary that occurred Aug. 29 at a Windham Township property.

According to state police information, a suspect entered a residence on Route 187 at about 2:35 p.m. The suspect entered a detached garage by prying at the door latch, then removed a 50-inch LCD television from a wall mount, police said. The suspect then forced entry into the home, where he was met by the homeowner, police said.

According to police, the suspect fled the house, entered a white sport utility vehicle and fled southbound on Route 187 toward Rome Borough.

Police said the victim described the suspect as a white male in his late 20s to early 30s, five feet six inches in height, with a thin build. The suspect had a heavy five o'clock shadow, wore blue jeans and possibly a flannel shirt and baseball cap, police said. The victim believed the white SUV to be a 2003 to 2007 Ford Explorer, police said.

Underage consumption charge

A Massachusetts man was recently charged with underage alcohol consumption by Pennsylvania State Police following an Aug. 31 incident.

According to information from state police at Towanda, Stephen R. Casey, 19, of Pembroke, Mass., was charged after police found him standing on the southern berm of Route 6 in Wyalusing Township at about 2:10 a.m. Aug. 31. Further investigation revealed Casey to be under the influence of alcohol, police said.

Police investigating corruption of minors incident

Pennsylvania state police at Towanda are currently investigating an incident regarding the corruption of minors in Sheshequin Township.

According to information from state police, a 16-year-old male victim was found to be having sexual contact with an unidentified person between 2010 and 2011. Police said the victim was under the care of a foster guardian who knew of the contact and failed to report it to law enforcement or Children and Youth Services. The investigation is ongoing, police said.

Man charged with trespassing

A Waverly man was recently arrested by Athens Township police on a charge of defiant trespassing.

According to papers filed with Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw, Cameron Alexander MacKinnon, 34, was also charged with two counts of harassment by physical contact and one count of disorderly conduct.

Police said MacKinnon engaged in a physical altercation with two people Aug. 17 at the Rustic Grotto on Route 199. MacKinnon then refused to leave the bar after being asked to by the owner, police said.

MacKinnon's preliminary hearing is scheduled for Oct. 9.

Man charged with theft

Justine Matthew Benjamin, 27, of Waverly, N.Y., has been charged by Pennsylvania State Police with theft by deception, access device fraud and theft by unlawful taking or deception stemming from an incident on or about July 11 on Tulip Lane in Wysox Township.

Joseph Chester Talada Sr., 61, of Gillett, has been charged by Pennsylvania State Police with identity theft stemming from a series of incidents between October 2001 and January 2012 in Wysox.

Jeremiah C. Ballard, 25, of New Albany, has been charged by Pennsylvania State Police with possession of a controlled substance, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct stemming from an incident at 6:11 p.m. on Feb. 10 in Wyalusing Borough.

Chad Harold Belcher, 19, of Stevensville, has been charged by Pennsylvania State Police with burglary, theft by Unlawful taking and receiving stolen property stemming from an incident between April 23, 2011 and May 7, 2011 in two seasonal residences in Harrick Township.

William Allen Bailey, 30, Splendora, Texas, has been charged by Pennsylvania State Police with leaving the scene of an accident stemming from an incident at 9:55 p.m. on May 27 in Wysox Township.

Timothy Randell Gainous, 30, of Athens, has been charged by Pennsylvania State Police with unauthorized use of an automobile, driving while operating privileges suspended, theft by unlawful taking, and receiving stolen property stemming from an incident at 12:08 a.m. on May 28, 2012 in Rome Township.

Man charged with theft

Matthew John Jenner, 29, of New Albany, has been charged by Pennsylvania State Police with theft by unlawful taking stemming from an incident at 3:06 p.m. on May 14 in Albany Township.

Golf cart stolen in Lopez

State police said they are trying to determine who stole an EZ-GO golf cart from a shed at the intersection of state Route 487 and White Deer Lane in Lopez, Sullivan County.

The golf cart belongs to 48-year-old Peter John Zarelli of West Chester, Pa., police said.

The cart, which is maroon with a white roof, was stolen between June 1 and Aug. 29, police said.

Dushore woman charged with assault

Amanda Lee Winters, 25, of Dushore recently struck and threatened to stab a 38-year-old Dushore man at 215 Center St. in Dushore, police said.

The victim suffered a swollen left eye and two scratches over his right eye, state police said.

Winters was charged with terroristic threats, simple assault, harassment, and disorderly conduct following this incident, which occurred at 4:02 p.m. Monday, police said.

Winters was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge John Hovan and released on $20,000 unsecured bail.

Hit-and-run accident occurs in Forksville

State police said they are searching for the hit-and-run driver who caused minor damage to a 2007 Chevrolet 3500 that was parked on the Sullivan County Fairgrounds property in Forksville.

The hit-and-run driver struck the vehicle at 9:30 p.m. Saturday, when it was parked off of a traffic way along a parking lot area, police said.

Van stolen in Wysox Twp.

Someone stole a 1996 grey Dodge 15-passenger van that was parked at Flynn Beverage in Wysox Township, police said.

The vehicle has a Pennsylvania registration of GWH7928 with a blue stripe down each of the sides, police said.

The van was stolen between 3 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. Saturday, police said.

It is unknown if the vehicle was locked, but the keys were left inside, police said.

Monroeton man charged with assault

John Jacob Brown, 25, of Monroeton is accused of assaulting 23-year-old Cricket Marie Grover, who lives at the same address as him, police said.

The incident began at their residence on Brown Lane in Burlington Township at approximately 6:15 p.m. on June 15, police said.

Grover told the police that Brown grabbed her by the hair and knocked her down the stairs, according to the state police said.

Brown then allegedly forced Grover into the passenger side of a vehicle, and punched her numerous times while they drove to Monroeton and Towanda, police said. Grover told police that Brown continued to strike her after they had returned to her residence, state police said.

Grover had visible injuries to her head, face and lip, police said.

Brown was charged with terroristic threats, simple assault, harassment, and driving while license is suspended or revoked, police said.

Brown has been sent a summons which orders him to appear before Towanda Magisterial District Judge on Friday.
