Criminal trespass charge

A Sayre man was recently arrested by Athens Township police on a charge of criminal trespass.

According to papers filed with Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw, Henry Jay Johnson, 54, was arrested after entering a residence on Black Bear Lane without permission. Police said it appeared that Johnson had moved his belongings, including several guns, into the unoccupied residence and had been staying there several days.

Johnson was arraigned Aug. 12 by Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark and remanded to the Bradford County Jail in lieu of $30,000 bail. Johnson's preliminary hearing is scheduled for Aug. 21.

Sayre man arrested

Athens borough police recently charged a Sayre man with resisting arrest.

According to information filed with Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw, David Bruce Chandler, 23, was also charged with disorderly conduct.

Police said officers responded to a report of Chandler acting out of control at a Vanderbilt Street location and found that he had a warrant for his arrest out of Tioga County. Police said Chandler refused to put his hands behind his back, requiring officers to use physical force to place him into custody.

Chandler was arraigned Aug. 12 by Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark and remanded to the Bradford County Jail in lieu of $20,000 bail. Chandler's preliminary hearing is scheduled for Aug. 21.

Man arrested for stalking

A Sayre man was recently arrested by borough police on a charge of stalking.

According to papers filed with Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw, Timothy J. Guiles, 37, was also charged with stalking by repeatedly communicating to cause fear, harassment by physical contact, harassment by repeatedly alarming or annoying and harassment by lewd and threatening communication.

Police said Guiles followed a female victim while she was out walking, repeatedly drove by a location she was at and attempted to have a third party contact her after she received a protection from abuse order against him.

Guiles was arraigned Aug. 14 and remanded to the Bradford County Jail in lieu of $10,000 unsecured bail. Guiles' preliminary hearing is scheduled for Aug. 21.

Police investigate theft from vehicle

Pennsylvania state police are investigating the theft of a gun from a vehicle in Ridgebury Township.

According to information from state police at Towanda, an unknown offender removed a .22 caliber pistol from a truck on Bucks Creek Road at an unknown date and time. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police at (570) 265-2186.

Bicycle found

A bicycle was recently dropped off at the state police barracks in Towanda as found property.

According to information from state police, the greenish-blue Pacific Evolution bicycle was found on Sheshequin Road in Sheshequin Township and had been there for a week before it was brought to the barracks Aug. 13. Police said the bicycle bears serial number SNFS012AU7110 and model number 201125PKMA.

Lockwood man arrested

A Lockwood, N.Y. man was recently arrested by Tioga County sheriff's deputies on a charge of possession of an unlicensed dog.

According to information from the sheriff's office, Timothy W. Cole Jr., 26, was arrested Aug. 11 after an unlicensed dog bit a juvenile male victim at an Ellison Road property. Cole was issued a ticket to appear in Town of Barton court Aug. 28.

Man charged with harassment

Pennsylvania state police recently charged an Ulster man with two counts of harassment following an incident in Ulster Township.

According to information from state police at Towanda, Andrew Eidson, 20, threw a paper towel holder at a female employee of Futures Community Support Services Aug. 8 at the Saco Road location, striking her in the leg. Police said Eidson then kicked the paper towel holder at a male employee, striking him in the foot.

Police said charges against Eidson were filed in district court.

Truck scratched

A 32-year-old Canton man told state police at Towanda that someone scratched his truck sometime between 6 a.m. Aug. 10 and 7 a.m. Aug. 12 at DeMorgan Acres in Canton Township.

Charges filed

State police at Towanda said that charges of simple assault and harassment were filed against Eric Thomas Hercenberg, 53, of Wyalusing, and Candice Joy Hercenberg, 27, of Wyalusing, who are accused in a simple assault/domestic violence incident that occurred at 9:47 p.m. Aug. 12 on Iron Bridge Road in Terry Township.

Police said the individuals were arguing and both struck each other in the face.

Lawn ornament taken

A 45-year-old Pike Township woman told state police at Towanda that two young teenagers, a male and a female with dark hair, stopped their vehicle, got out, stole her lawn ornament, and tried to steal another one, at 8:30 p.m. Aug. 8 on Route 467 in Pike Township.

She said they were driving a red Oldsmobile sedan, unknown model.

Criminal mischief reported

A 20-year-old Wyalusing woman told state police at Towanda that someone dumped some type of liquid and food product on her vehicle sometime between 8:30 a.m. Aug. 4 and noon Aug. 9 on Litini Road in Wyalusing Township.

Charges not pursued in theft

State police at Towanda said a victim in a theft incident at 1:27 p.m. Aug. 8 on Route 14 in Grover, Canton Township, is not pursuing charges after his loader was sold to a scrap yard.

According to police, a 20-year-old Mansfield man is accused in the incident. Police said he took a front-end loader from Grover with the permission of the victim, a 19-year-old Mansfield man. Police said the 20-year-old man then sold the loader to a scrap yard, but agreed to pay the 19-year-old man restitution for the front-end loader. Police said the 19-year-old agreed to accept the restitution, and is not pursuing charges at this time.

Police did not identify the individuals.

One injured

State police at Towanda said Taina Martinez-Aponte, 29, of Canton, had an injury of unknown severity in a one-vehicle accident at 6:41 p.m. Aug. 11 on Route 14 in Troy Township.

Police said she was traveling north, and swerved right to miss another vehicle heading south in her lane of travel. Police said she overcorrected when trying to get back in her lane and lost control of her GMC Envoy, which was sliding sideways for about 180 feet prior to impact with a tree on the southbound shoulder. After striking the tree, the vehicle turned counter-clockwise and rolled onto the passenger side before coming to final rest on all four tires facing southeast.

People charged in harassment

State police at Towanda said William Joseph Hicks, no age given, of Sayre, and Daniel Eugene Lane, no age given, of Monroeton, were charged with harassment at the office of Magisterial District Judge Jonathan Wilcox of Troy for an incident that occurred sometime between 9 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. July 21 at the Bradford County Correctional Facility in West Burlington Township.

Police said they assaulted a 39-year-old Gillett man at the facility.
