DUI Charges

The following people were recently charged with driving while under the influence in Bradford County:

John Joseph Cyril Adamietz, 23, of Wyalusing, by state police, on Nov. 2, on State Route 6 in Tuscarora Township.

Adamietz has also been charged with failing to stay in his lane and careless driving.

On the night of his arrest, a blood test revealed Adamietz had a blood alcohol content of .134 percent, police said.

He was arrested after crashing his 2008 Honda Civic. He was transported to Tyler Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Adamietz has been sent a summons to appear before Magisterial District Judge Fred Wheaton on Feb. 2 at 3:30 p.m. for a preliminary hearing.

Richard Henry Laye Jr., 54, of Waverly, by state police, on Dec. 28, on State Route 6 in Wysox Township.

Laye has also been charged with driving without a license, failing to stay in his lane and careless driving.

On the night of his arrest, a blood test revealed Lay had a blood alcohol content of .3 percent.

Laye has been sent a summons to appear before Magisterial District Judge Fred Wheaton on Mar. 4 at 1 p.m. for a preliminary hearing.

Francis Thomas Northrup, 57, of Towanda, by the state police, on Dec. 12, at the intersection of Liberty Corners and Crossover roads in Monroe Township. Northrup was under the influence of alcohol at the time.

Vandalism occurs at well pad

State police are investigating the report of criminal mischief at a gas well pad on State Route 706 approximately one mile north of Camptown in Wyalusing Township.

Police said the windshield of an excavator was smashed sometime between Jan. 6 at 4 p.m. and Jan. 7 at 8 a.m..

Linde Corporation owned the excavator, police said.

Domestic dispute in Wyalusing Twp.

A 56-year-old female from Wyalusing was attacked on Dec. 29 by a 66-year-old male suspect, who is also from Wyalusing, police said.

The incident occurred on Front Street in Wyalusing Township at approximately 4:30 p.m., police said.

Troopers said they observed markings on the victim's face after she was struck in the face with the suspect's right hand. An online court document search revealed charges have not yet been filed.

Theft occurs in Towanda Twp.

A 37-year-old Towanda Township man reported that someone recently stole approximately $20 worth of food stamps that were in his dresser in his residence, police said.

The theft occurred at approximately 8 a.m. on Sunday, state police said.

Wysox man charged with scattering rubbish

Brandon Rivera, 21, of Wysox is accused of dumping garbage on a 48-year-old man's property at 314 Wilson Industrial Drive in Wysox, police said.

The incident occurred at 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 18, police said.

Rivera has been charged with scattering rubbish, state police at Towanda said.

Two charged after Monroe Twp. bar incident

Two Towanda women face charges after they got into a physical altercation at the Our Place bar in Monroe Township, police said.

One of the women, 42-year-old Leigh Anne Ayers, was charged with simple assault and harassment, police said.

The other woman - 46-year-old Karen Sue Hall of Packer Avenue - was cited for harassment, state police said.

The incident occurred at approximately 10:15 p.m. on Dec. 21, according to the state police at Towanda.

Gun stolen in Towanda

A 38-year-old Towanda woman reported that a Winchester shotgun was taken out of her residence, according to the state police.

The theft occurred at approximately 8 a.m. on Dec. 18 on Place Lane, state police said.

Two injured in Asylum Twp. crash

Two people suffered minor injuries in a recent one-vehicle accident on state Route 187 in Asylum Township, police said.

The accident occurred as a 17-year-old Rome female was driving a 2006 Mercury Cougar south on Route 187, which was covered with snow and ice at the time, police said.

The 17-year-old lost control of the vehicle, which traveled off the west side of the roadway, went over an embankment, and struck a tree, police said.

The two passengers in the rear seat - 25-year-old Shane Furman of Wysox and 25-year-old Michael Lutz of Lawton - suffered minor injuries, police said.

Another passenger in the vehicle, 25-year-old Larry Harbst of Towanda, was uninjured, police said.

The 17-year-old driver was cited for driving at an unsafe speed and failure to wear a seat belt, police said.

The accident occurred at 4:08 p.m. on Jan. 1, approximately two-tenths of a mile south of O'Brian Road, state police at Towanda said.

Theft occurs in Franklin Twp.

A 57-year-old man reported that his Tri-Pod tree stand, with a swivel seat, was stolen in the 100 block of Dodge Road in Franklin Township, police said.

The theft occurred sometime between 8 a.m. and 3:50 p.m. on Dec. 30, state police said.

Woman injured in Colley Twp. accident

Brittany Durland, 23, of Mildred suffered moderate injuries in a recent motor vehicle accident in Colley Township, Sullivan County, police said.

The accident occurred at 1:30 a.m. on Jan. 3, when Durland lost control of her 2007 Jeep Compass as she was driving north on state Route 487, police said.

The vehicle went off the east side of the roadway and struck a ditch, police said.

The accident occurred just north of the Lopez Winery, state police at Laporte said.
