The following people were recently charged with driving while under the influence in Bradford County:
Steven Scott Gee, 38, of Trout Run, by state police, on June 30, on Route 187 in Asylum Township. Gee has also been charged with failure to stay in his lane of traffic, speeding and careless driving. A blood alcohol test later revealed that Gee's blood alcohol content was .194 percent on the day of his arrest. Gee has been issued a summons to appear before Magisterial District Judge Fred Wheaton Aug. 7 for a preliminary hearing.
Brian Edward Greeno, 40, of Sayre, by Athens Township police, on May 28, on Wildwood Road in Sayre. A blood alcohol test later revealed that Greeno's blood alcohol content was .15 percent on the day of his arrest. Greeno has been issued a summons to appear before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw Sept. 4 for a preliminary hearing.
Jeremy D. Firestine, 40, of Sayre, by Athens borough police, on July 1, on East Frederick Street in Athens. Firestine has also been charged with unsafely backing a vehicle and disorderly conduct by using obscene language. A blood alcohol test later revealed that Firestine's blood alcohol content was .15 percent on the day of his arrest. Firestine has been issued a summons to appear before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw Sept. 4 for a preliminary hearing.
Michael Charles Porter, 28, of Troy, by state police, on July 20, on Route 220 in Ulster Township. Porter has also been charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, careless driving and failure to stay in a lane of traffic. Police said Porter was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of bath salts. Porter will appear before Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark at a later date for a preliminary hearing.
The following people were recently charged with driving while under the influence in Tioga County, N.Y.:
Brian V. Critelli, 38, of Long Beach, N.J., by Waverly police, on July 21, on Broad Street in Waverly. Critelli has also been cited for driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content of .08 percent or higher. Critelli is scheduled to appear in Village of Waverly court on Aug. 2.
Sayre man charged with hindering
A Sayre man was recently arrested by Athens Township police on a charge of hindering apprehension or prosecution.
According to papers filed with Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw, Raymond Samuel Saxer, 34, was also charged with obstructing administration of law.
Police said Saxer and another woman aided in hiding a man that escaped from the custody of Sayre police in May 2011. The two also cut away the man's handcuffs, according to police.
Saxer's preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 24.
Man arrested following domestic incident
A Barton man was recently arrested by Tioga County, N.Y. sheriff's deputies on a charge of criminal mischief.
According to information from the sheriff's office, Kevin M. Scrivers, 29, is accused of breaking a windshield out of a car following a domestic dispute at an Emory Chapel Road residence.
Scrivers was arraigned in Town of Barton Court and released on his own recognizance, police said. Scrivers is scheduled to reappear in court Aug. 7.
Police investigating tool theft
State police at Towanda are currently following leads regarding the theft of tools from a Tuscarora Township residence.
According to state police information, the tools were removed from a garage on Spring Hill Road at about 2:35 p.m. July 17.
Police seek owner of floor jack
State police at Towanda are seeking the owner of a heavy-duty floor jack found July 17 along state route 6 in Wyalusing Township, according to state police information. Anyone with information regarding the owner is asked to contact state police at (570) 265-2186.
No injuries in Route 220 crash
State police recently investigated a two-car motor vehicle accident on U.S. Route 220 in Ulster Township.
According to information from state police at Towanda, a 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser operated by Lee F. Light, 79, of Rome, was stopped behind a vehicle making a left turn into the parking lot of the Milan Veterinary Clinic at about 4 p.m. July 12 when it was struck from behind by a 2010 Chrysler Sebring. The Sebring then struck a mailbox, police said.
The driver of the Sebring, Grace L. Sharrow, 72, of Canton, was cited for careless driving, police said. Light, Sharrow and a passenger in the PT Cruiser, Harley G. Sharrow, 84, of Canton, were uninjured, police said.
Ridgebury ambulance transported a passenger in Light's vehicle, 83-year-old Vida M. Williams of New Albany, to Memorial Hospital in Towanda as a precautionary measure, but police said she was uninjured.
Driver cited in one-car crash
State police at Towanda recently investigated a one-car motor vehicle accident in Rome Borough.
According to information from state police, a 2005 Chrysler Town and Country operated by Juanita L. Campbell, 67, of Wysox, traveled off the western side of Route 187 at about 1:38 p.m. July 18 and struck a tree after police said Campbell fell asleep. The vehicle continued to travel south before coming to a final stop on the shoulder of the road, police said.
Campbell and an six-year-old female passenger were uninjured, police said. Police cited Campbell with failure to remain in the lane of travel.
A Sayre woman was recently charged with simple assault by borough police.
According to information filed with Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw, Colleen Tigue, 35, was also charged with harassment.
Police said Tigue is accused of punching a female victim in the face June 2 at the Lehigh Tavern in Sayre.
Tigue's preliminary hearing is scheduled for Aug. 21.
