Towanda Police report on police activity in the borough

George Casselbury, 26, of Towanda was cited for the summary offense of harassment following an incident which occurred at 113 William Street on March 2.

Casselbury is accused of making threats directed at Stuart Streeter, 35, of Towanda.

The threats were made via a phone message, according to police.

A juvenile male has been cited for the summary offense of possession of an alcoholic beverage while at the Towanda Area High School.

The incident occurred on March 4. According to police, the juvenile had in his possession a tea bottle containing the alcoholic beverage.

James Gaitings, 46, of Towanda has been cited for the summary offense of harassment following an incident which occurred at 221 North Main St. in Towanda on March 12.

Gaitings is accused of making threats of physical violence toward an adult female.

Andrew Wickwire, 18, of Wysox, and Mason Hugo, 18, of Monroeton have been cited for the summary offense of disorderly conduct following an incident which occurred at the Towanda Area Elementary School.

Both teenagers are accused of doing "donuts" in the school parking lot while operating a motor vehicle.

William Hicks, 24, and Fellicia Vandyke, 24, both of Towanda have been issued non-traffic citations following an incident which occurred on Second Street in Towanda on March 6.

Hicks has been cited for the summary offenses of harassment and disorderly conduct. Vandyke has been cited for the summary offense of disorderly conduct.

Police report Hicks and Vandyke approached Patrick Saring and Scott Hudson Sr., both of Towanda, with Hicks attempting to strike both Hudson and Saring.

Police report Hicks then spit on both.

Vandyke is accused of threatening to harm both Hudson and Saring with a knife, which she indicated to both Hudson and Saring she had in her possession.

People cited for harassment

State police at Mansfield said two Canton residents were cited for harassment in Magisterial District Court 04-3-03 for an incident that occurred between approximately 9 a.m. and noon March 22 at 139 Patterson Rd., Ward Township, Tioga County, Pa.

Police said Sara DiParlo, 20, of Canton, and Michael DiParlo, 27, of Canton, became engaged in a heated verbal argument which turned physical when Sara DiParlo slapped Michael DiParlo in his face and pushed him.

According to Trooper Robert Evanchick, Michael DiParlo also grabbed Sara DiParlo by her arm and squeezed.

Injuries reported in DUI crash

State police at Towanda said that Jordan Thomas Fitch, 22, of Canton, was taken into custody and charged with DUI and Aggravated Assault while DUI following a crash, with injuries, that took place at 2 p.m. Feb. 7 on Upper Mountain Road in Canton Township.

Police said Fitch was traveling west in a blue 1996 Ford Escort on Upper Mountain Road, west of Route 14, and lost control, left the travel lane, and went onto the northern berm of Upper Mountain Road. The vehicle then struck a tree, prior to coming to final rest.

Trooper George W. Layou said the victims in the accident were a 17-year-old Columbia Cross Roads female and an 18-year-old Roaring Branch man.

The Canton Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene.

Man cited for harassment

State police at Towanda said John Allen Gasper, 45, of Sylvania, was cited for harassment for an incident that took place at 2:34 p.m. March 23 at 2378 Sylvania Rd., Sylvania, in which he had a verbal altercation with a 29-year-old Sylvania man.

Trooper Naughton said Gasper had a four-foot piece of wood in his hand and made a gesture that he was going to hit the victim with it.

No injuries in crash

State police at Towanda said that Sara Paritsky, no age given, of Troy, was not injured in a crash that took place at 12:52 p.m. March 1 on State Route 4017 in Springfield Township.

Police said she was traveling southbound in a 2010 Subaru Legacy, went over a knoll in the road, and saw another vehicle northbound. She swerved to the right and then back to the left, and lost control of the vehicle, police said. The vehicle then slid across the road and struck a tree off the east shoulder of the road, according to police. The vehicle then struck several small trees before the front of the vehicle struck another tree, and came to rest facing a southwesterly direction, police said.

Cpl. Douglas S. Smith said the vehicle had disabling damage.

Vehicle stolen

State police at Towanda said that Shawn Allen MacDougal, 36, of Troy Township, was taken into custody after stealing a 2004 Ford F-350 pickup truck at 2 p.m. March 12 on McGlen Road in Troy Township.

Trooper Brandon Allis said the vehicle was recovered at MacDougal's residence at 5:05 p.m. that day, and MacDougal was at the residence and taken into custody.

Tires stolen

An 85-year-old Millerton man told state police at Towanda that someone entered his residence sometime between Feb. 27 and March 5 on Judson Hill Road in Wells Township and stole four Cooper tires and assorted U.S. and Canadian smaller bills of cash.

Man charged with summary harassment

State police at Towanda said that Shane Collins, 27, of Covington, was charged with one summary count of harassment following an incident at 4 p.m. March 1 on Prospect Street in Troy.

According to Trooper Sadowski, Collins repeatedly engaged in a course of conduct that was annoying and caused alarm to a 27-year-old Troy man.
