Dushore residents charged with assault

Thirty-one-year-old Amanda Rose Marotti and 27-year-old Dustin Lewis Marotti, both of Dushore, recently got into physical fight, which occurred on the Birch Creek Inn and at a location on Dutch Mountain Road in Cherry Township, police said.

During the incident, Dustin Marotti held Amanda Marotti on the ground against her will and threatened her by stating that he had a 44 with her name on it, police said.

The incident occurred in the early morning hours on Sunday, police said.

Dustin Marotti was charged with terroristic threats, unlawful restraint, simple assault, and harassment, police said.

Amanda Marotti was charged with simple assault and harassment, state police at Laporte said.

Theft occurs in Forks Twp.

Someone removed parts from a blue 1976 Ford Marverick that was parked along Norton Road in Forks Township, Sullivan County, police said.

The vehicle belongs to 43-year-old Lea Phinney of Meshoppen, police said.

The theft occurred sometime between Aug. 3 and Oct. 18, state police said.

Runaway investigated in Wysox Twp.

State police at Towanda said they are continuing to investigate a 14-year-old male runaway from Towanda.

The incident occurred at 9:50 p.m. on Sept. 21 on Dogwood Lane in Wysox Township, police said.

Vehicle stolen in Asylum Twp.

Someone recently stole a gray 2006 Nissan Frontier from the front yard of 64 Gordon Lane in Asylum Township, police said.

The vehicle, which has a Pennsylvania registration bearing YDP1504, belongs to a 59-year-old man, police said. The vehicle has a black tool box in the bed area, state police said.

The theft occurred sometime between 7:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. on Friday, state police said.

Attempted break-in occurs in Standing Stone Twp.

A 49-year-old woman reported a recent attempted break-in at her residence on River Road in Standing Stone Township, police said.

The woman reported that a man, whose identity is unknown, broke the side window of her residence and then ran off when she confronted him, police said.

The woman described the man as six feet tall, with brown hair, and about 40 years old, police said.

The incident occurred at approximately 1:30 p.m. Friday, state police said.

DUI charges

The following people were recently charged with driving while under the influence in Bradford County:

Bryan Edward Calkins, 54, of Lawtons, N.Y., by Athens Borough police, on Sept. 23, on West Pine Street in Athens. Calkins has also been charged with failure to display headlamps. Calkins refused to submit to a blood alcohol test to determine his blood alcohol content. Calkins has been sent a summons to appear Nov. 26 before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw for a preliminary hearing.
