Tioga County Acting District Attorney, Irene C. Graven, reports the following activity in the District Attorney's Office for the week ending May 24.

The following defendants were arraigned on felony indictments in Tioga County Court: Manuel Cruz, Melanie Short, Teresa Cochran, Lance DeGraffenreid, Robert Smith, Maleka Burgess, John Malowsky, David Soprano, Michael Shumway, Jeffrey Ryan, Jason Krissel, Dennis Pond, Casey Beach, Juanito Vazquez, Bryan Burkard, Charles Sheldon, Jonathan Cade, Robert Rose, Scott Cole, Chad Wiggins, Christin Cade and Rossi Warren.

On May 22, 2013, Acting District Attorney Irene C. Graven conducted a three hour legal advocacy training for volunteer advocates at A New Hope Center on Church Street in Owego, New York.

"I appreciate the time and dedication that these volunteers are contributing to provide assistance to victims of domestic violence in our community," said Graven, "their commitment to victim safety is admirable."

On May 16, 2013 and May 23, 2013, Acting District Attorney Irene C. Graven attended law enforcement ceremonies recognizing those deputies, troopers, and officers who have dedicated years of public safety to our County.

"I was privileged to attend these ceremonies as the Acting District Attorney," said Graven. She continued, "I have remained a prosecutor for the past 14 years because I respect, admire and trust the difficult and often dangerous work of our law enforcement in this County. I thank all of the troopers, deputies and officers for their continuing commitment to public safety and their dedication, commitment and cooperation in working with this office to enable all of us to do our jobs. I look forward to a continuing partnership."
