Bradford County District Attorney Daniel J. Barrett announced that the following persons were sentenced in the Bradford County Court of Common Pleas, Towanda, Pa.:

Tessa Page, 45, of Canton, Pa., was sentenced by Judge Jeffrey Smith to pay a fine of $150, and restitution in the amount of $10.50, for the offense of retail theft, a misdemeanor of the second degree. Chief Douglas Seeley of the Canton Borough Police Department arrested Page for the offense in March 2009 after an incident in Canton Borough.

Brittany Kreider, 22, of Athens, Pa., was sentenced by Judge Jeffrey Smith to probation for a term of 24 months, and a fine of $300, for the offense of theft by unlawful taking, a misdemeanor of the first degree. Officer Newton Condict of the Athens Borough Police Department arrested Kreider for the offense in March 2009 after an incident in Athens Borough. While on probation, Kreider will be subject to supervision and monitoring by the Bradford County Probation Department.

Natasha Verbraak, 21, of Endwell, N.Y., was sentenced by Judge Jeffrey Smith to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from 48 hours to six months, and a fine of $750, for driving under the influence, a misdemeanor. Verbraak will also lose her Pennsylvania driving privilege for 12 months. Officer Bruce Hoffman of the Sayre Borough Police Department arrested Verbraak for the offense in May 2009 after an incident in Sayre Borough. Verbraak may be eligible for parole after serving the minimum sentence, and, if paroled, she will be subject to supervision and monitoring by the Bradford County Probation Department.

Steven Servis, 26, of Canton, Pa., was resentenced following revocation of a sentence of probation, due to violation of the conditions of probation, to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from 100 days to 23 months, 29 days, and a fine of $500, for the offense of bad check, a misdemeanor of the second degree. Servis was also ordered to pay restitution of $1,188.85. Trooper James Kerrick of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Servis for the offense in February 2009 after an incident in New Albany Township. Servis may be eligible for parole after serving the minimum sentence, and, if paroled, he will be subject to supervision and monitoring by the Bradford County Probation Department.

Mark Miller, 30, of Ulster, Pa., was sentenced by Judge Jeffrey Smith to probation for a term of 15 months, and a fine of $250, for the offense of theft by unlawful taking, a misdemeanor of the first degree. Miller was also ordered to pay restitution of $4,346.86. Trooper Nathan Lewis of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Miller for the offense in October 2008 after an incident in North Towanda Township. While on probation, Miller will be subject to supervision and monitoring by the Bradford County Probation Department.

Jesse Stewart, of Canton, Pa., was resentenced by Judge Jeffrey Smith, following revocation of a sentence of probation, to a term of imprisonment in a Pennsylvania State Correctional Facility of from six months to 12 months consecutive to a prior sentence for a total of 16 months to 35 months, 29 days, and a fine of $500, for the offense of possession of a controlled substance (Cocaine), a felony. Stewart will also lose his Pennsylvania driving privilege for six months.

Agents of the Pennsylvania State Police Vice and Narcotics Unit arrested Stewart for the offenses in February 2007 after an incident in Sayre Borough. Stewart may be eligible for parole after serving the minimum sentence, and, if paroled, he will be subject to supervision and monitoring by the Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole.

Eliot Roberts, 24, of Sayre, Pa., was sentenced by Judge Jeffrey Smith to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from one month to 18 months, and a fine of $500, for the offense of criminal attempt to acquire a controlled substance by misrepresentation, a felony. Roberts will also lose his Pennsylvania driving privilege for six months.

Agent Carol Davenport of the Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office arrested Roberts for the offense in June 2007 after an incident in Sayre Borough. Roberts may be eligible for parole after serving the minimum sentence imposed, and, if paroled, he will be subject to supervision and monitoring by the Bradford County Probation Department.

Lyle Hottle, 32, of Owego, N.Y., was sentenced by Judge Jeffrey Smith to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from 35 days to six months, and a fine of $750, for driving under the influence of alcohol, a misdemeanor. Hottle will also lose his Pennsylvania driving privilege for 12 months.

Trooper David Sweeney of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Hottle for the offense in March 2009 after an incident in Litchfield Township. Hottle may be eligible for parole after serving the minimum sentence, and, if paroled, he will be subject to supervision and monitoring by the Bradford County Probation Department.

Joshua Hill, 20, of Sayre, Pa., was sentenced by Judge Jeffrey Smith to a term of imprisonment in a Pennsylvania State Correctional Facility of from 20 months to five years, and a fine of $500, for the offense of receiving stolen property, a felony of the second degree. Officer Bruce Hoffman of the Sayre Borough Police Department arrested Hill for the offense in June 2009 after an incident in Sayre Borough. Hill may be eligible for parole after serving the minimum sentence, and, if paroled, he will be subject to supervision and monitoring by the Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole.

Bradford County District Attorney Daniel J, Barrett announced that the following persons entered pleas of guilty in the Bradford County Court of Common Pleas, Towanda, Pa.;

Jeffrey Coats, 45, of Canton, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to driving under the influence of alcohol, a misdemeanor.

Coats will be sentenced on Dec. 14, 2009, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. At sentencing, Coats faces a maximum sentence of up to six months plus fine(s), costs, restitution to victims, loss of Pennsylvania driving privilege for at least 12 months, and any other conditions deemed appropriate by the sentencing court. Officer Brian Wibirt of the Canton Borough Police Department arrested Coats for the offense in May 2009 following investigation of a traffic incident that occurred in Canton Borough.

Leslie Derstine, 41, of Sayre, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to driving under the influence of alcohol, a misdemeanor. Derstine will be sentenced on Dec. 14, 2009, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. At sentencing, Derstine faces a maximum sentence of up to six months plus fine(s), costs, restitution to victims, loss of Pennsylvania driving privilege for at least 12 months, and any other conditions deemed appropriate by the sentencing court. Officer Jeremy Horton of the Sayre Borough Police Department arrested Derstine for the offense in June 2009 following investigation of a motor vehicle crash that occurred in Sayre Borough.

Jason Bergquist, 25, of Sayre, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to access device fraud, a felony of the third degree.

Bergquist will be sentenced on Dec. 14, 2009, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. At sentencing, Bergquist faces a maximum sentence of up to seven years plus fine(s), costs, restitution to victims, and any other conditions deemed appropriate by the sentencing court. Trooper James Kerrick of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Bergquist for the offense in June 2009 following investigation of an incident that occurred in Litchfield Township.

Brian May, 45, of Canton, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to burglary, a felony of the second degree. May will be sentenced on Dec. 14, 2009, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. At sentencing, May faces a maximum sentence of up to 10 years plus fine(s), costs, restitution to victims, and any other conditions deemed appropriate by the sentencing court. Trooper Andrew Burian of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested May for the offense in June 2009 following investigation of an incident that occurred in Canton Township.

Autumn Learn, 20, of Sayre, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to receiving stolen property, a misdemeanor of the first degree. Learn will be sentenced on Dec. 14, 2009, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. At sentencing, Learn faces a maximum sentence of up to five years plus fine(s), costs, restitution to victims, and any other conditions deemed appropriate by the sentencing court. Trooper James Kerrick of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Learn for the offense in June following investigation of an incident that occurred in Wysox Township. The two codefendants in the incident involving Learn were sentenced at an earlier proceeding.

Cody Schoffner, 22, of Towanda, Pa., entered pleas of guilty to two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, each a misdemeanor. Schoffner will be sentenced on Dec. 14, 2009, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. At sentencing, Schoffner faces a maximum sentence of up to six months on each count plus fine(s), costs, restitution to victims, and any other conditions deemed appropriate by the sentencing court. Officer Derek Watkins of the Sayre Borough Police Department and Sergeant James Shaw of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Schoffner for the offenses in March and May of 2009, respectively, following investigation of a traffic incidents that occurred in Sayre Borough and Athens Township.

Bradford County District Attorney Daniel J. Barrett announced that the following persons were placed in the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition (ARD) Program in the Bradford County Court of Common Pleas, Towanda, Pa:

Patrick Vanderpool, 19, of Towanda, Pa., charged with theft by unlawful taking in April 2009, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation under the supervision of the Bradford County Probation Department. While in the ARD Program, Vanderpool must perform community service and pay restitution of $1,410. Trooper Jamie Lopez of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Vanderpool for the offense following investigation of a theft that occurred in Wysox Township.

Marc Platowsky, 28, of Langhorne, Pa., charged with receiving stolen property in August 2009, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation under the supervision of the Bradford County Probation Department for a term of 18 months. While in the ARD Program, Platowsky must perform community service. Trooper David Pelachick of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Platowsky for the offense following investigation of a theft that occurred in North Towanda Township.

Andrew Solock, 59, of Sayre, Pa., charged with driving under the influence of alcohol in July 2009, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation under the supervision of the Bradford County Probation Department for a term of nine months. While in the ARD Program, Solock must perform community service with the DUI Litter Brigade and attend a Victim Impact Panel; he will also lose his Pennsylvania driving privilege for 60 days. Sergeant Daniel Reynolds of the Sayre Borough Police Department arrested Solock for the offense following investigation of a traffic incident that occurred in Sayre Borough.

Amanda McConnell, 26, of Sayre, Pa., charged with public welfare fraud in February 2009, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation under the supervision of the Bradford County Probation Department for a term of nine months. While in the ARD program, McConnell must perform community service and pay restitution of $2,805. Agent Alexis Goldman of the Office of the Pennsylvania Inspector General arrested McConnell for the offense following investigation of a report of welfare fraud in Towanda Borough.

Stephen Seymour, 40, of Rome, Pa., charged with driving under the influence of alcohol in June 2009, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation under the supervision of the Bradford County Probation Department for a term of 12 months. While in the ARD Program, Seymour must perform community service with the DUI Litter Brigade and attend a Victim Impact Panel; he will also lose his Pennsylvania driving privilege for 60 days. Trooper David Sweeney of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Seymour for the offense following investigation of a traffic incident that occurred in Litchfield Township.

Bradford County District Attorney Daniel J. Barrett announced that the following person was sentenced after having been found guilty by a jury at criminal trial in the Bradford County Court of Common Pleas, Towanda, Pa.:

Billy Lee Bacon, 36, of Canton, Pa., was sentenced by Judge Jeffrey Smith to a term of imprisonment in a Pennsylvania State Correctional Facility of from 18 years to 36 years. The sentence was imposed following Bacon's conviction for involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a person less than 16 years old, and other related offenses, after criminal jury trial in May 2009. The Commonwealth's case at the criminal trial was based upon the testimony of the 10-year-old victim of Bacon's criminal conduct. Officer Brian Wibirt of the Canton Borough Police Department arrested Bacon for the offenses in October 2008 following a report of an incident that occurred in Canton Borough in December 2007. Bacon may be eligible for parole after serving the minimum sentence, and, if paroled, he will be subject to supervision and monitoring by the Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole.
