A Sayre man was ordered incarcerated in lieu of bail recently after being charged with aggravated assault.
According to information filed with Magisterial District Judge Tim Clark, Steven T. McDonald, 27, of 111 N. Lehigh Ave., has also been charged with by state police with simple assault, and recklessly endangering another person.
Police reported that McDonald has been accused of attempting to stab another man in October with a knife, while the two were traveling in a car on state Route 4014 in the Milan area.
Woman charged with forgery
An Ulster woman accused of stealing and writing checks from another person has been charged by state police with forgery.
According to information filed with Magisterial District Judge Tim Clark, Stefany J. Miller, 22, has also been charged with receiving stolen property.
Miller is accused of having taken two checks from Mark A. Rogers of Waverly without his permission, and written them for $207 and $215 respectively.
Miller was arraigned before Judge Clark, who ordered the defendant incarcerated in lieu of $10,000 bail.
Man charged with DUI
A Towanda man has been sent a summons to appear before Magisterial District Judge Tim Clark to answer a charge of driving while under the influence.
According to information filed in Clark's office, Michael J. Lyndon, 59, has also been charged by state police with careless driving, and having an open container of an alcoholic beverage while operating a motor vehicle.
Police reported that Lyndon was charged with DUI following an incident on Oct. 5 in which the Mercury Mystique he was driving went off Madigan Road in Burlington Township. Police said that Lyndon was transported to Memorial Hospital in Towanda, where he was charged with drunken driving. A blood test eventually revealed that Lyndon's blood alcohol content was .387 percent on the night of the incident.
Lyndon is scheduled to appear before Judge Clark on Nov. 25.
Man accused of perjury
A Wyalusing man has been charge with perjury by the Bradford County District Attorney's Office.
According to papers filed with Magisterial District Judge Tim Clark, Charles K. Kingston, 52, has been accused of claiming he was the driver of a vehicle on Nov. 8, 2009. Authorities are contending that the driver was Kingston's son, Scott B. Kingston, and the reason for the elder Kingston's actions is he was attempting to prevent his son from being convicted for driving while under the influence.
Man charge with corruption of minors
A Towanda man has been charged by borough police providing tobacco products to minors.
According to information filed with Magisterial District Judge Tim Clark, Bruce E. Kremser, 64, of 7 Beidleman Alley, has been charged with corruption of minors, and selling tobacco to minors.
Police said the charges against Kremser stem from an incident in which two juveniles were reported smoking cigarettes on Sept. 27 at the Mulberry Street School. When questioned, police said, the juveniles reported obtaining the cigarettes from someone named "Bruce." Police said they determined the person was Kremser.
Kremser has been issued a summons to appear before Judge Clark on Nov. 13.
