Emergency crews and state police were looking on Monday night for a hunter who was reported lost in the mountains near the Monroeton Gun Club.

According to Monroeton Fire Chief Paul Bump, the missing person is a man about 50 years old who went out hunting around noon on Monday with another person. The other person reported the man missing around 7:20 p.m., Bump said, and state police and the Monroeton Fire Department responded by conducting a search in an attempt to find him. Bump said he does not know the name of the missing person.

A state police helicopter equipped with a high-intensity light was searching the area. Bump said that 15 emergency crew members were searching the woods, but it was difficult, due to the area and the darkness.

"The thing only we can do is spread out and comb the woods until they find him," the chief said.

The man was still missing as of 9:30 p.m.

how can you not know what the missing man's name is if he was hunting with someone else?
