Easter egg hunt set for March 30 in Monroeton
The Monroe Hose Company will be holding its 17th Annual Easter Egg Hunt at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 30 in Mountaineer Park in Monroeton.
The egg hunt, which is free and open to the public, is for children ages 3 to 12.
Also on Saturday, March 30, the Monroe Hose Company will be holding a chicken barbecue sale, with halves ready at 11 a.m. The chicken will be sold at the C&N Bank grounds on U.S. Route 220 in Monroeton.
Due to circumstances beyond the control of the fire company, the fire company will not be holding its an annual Easter flower sale this year, said Louise Benditt, secretary of the fire company.
"We'll try to have a flower sale for Mother's Day" and might have one again next year for Easter, she said.
To pre-order the chicken, contact Louise at (570) 250-0036 or Jessie at (570) 250-1507. Members of the public do not need to pre-order chicken in order to buy it at the sale. However, pre-ordering is a way of making sure that chicken will be available for you.
