TROY - Edgewood Restaurant in Troy has closed its doors.

Signs at the business have messages announcing the closing.

"Closed, thank you" is the message on the outdoor signboard at the restaurant.

Inside, the doors have signs that state, "We are sad to announce that our last day of operations will be Monday, Jan. 14. Thank you to all our valued customers for your patronage."

Employees working at the restaurant on Wednesday declined comment. Earlier, a manager had referred The Daily Review to the Dandy Mini Marts headquarters, but no one could be reached for comment.

Debi Hulslander, president of the Troy Chamber of Commerce, was not pleased about the loss of the business.

"It never makes me happy when a business closes," she said. She said she was hoping it would be reopened in the future.

"It's not good for the town, that's for sure. For us to lose a good-size restaurant like that, it's not good at all."

The chamber met in the restaurant for its monthly meetings, as well as at Troy Community Hospital and the Bradford County Manor. It alternated between the three.

Hulslander said the chamber will go back to meeting at just the hospital and the Manor, and possibly the Troy Vets Club.
