TOWANDA TWP. - A mobile home along Sugar Creek Road was heavily damaged Sunday night, after a fire caused by a wood stove broke out at the residence.

According to North Towanda Fire Chief Gary Wilcox, units from his department as well as Towanda, Ulslter and Monroeton responded to the scene around 7 p.m.

Wilcox said no one was injured in the blaze, which was contained in the back of the mobile home.

However, the chief said, the structure did sustain heavy damage from heat, smoke and water.

The chief was uncertain about the name of the person living at the mobile home.

He said about 30 firefighters manning six to seven pieces of equipment showed up to put the fire out.

Firefighters were finishing up a the scene Sunday around 8:30 p.m.
