Fire destroys structure in Burlington Twp.
BURLINGTON TWP. - A fire destroyed a privately owned structure on Saturday afternoon, located along U.S. Route 6 in Burlington Township.
According to North Towanda Fire Chief Terry Sheets - which was the initial responder - units were dispatched to the scene around 5:30 p.m. In addition to North Towanda, firefighters from Smithfield, Troy, Ulster and Monroeton also were sent to fight the fire.
Sheets said the fire broke out in a facility at Dan Burgess Well Drilling. The building, the chief continued, was empty and the owner was in the process of selling or leasing the premises.

The chief said the scene is scheduled to be investigated today by the state police fire marshal in an attempt to determine the cause of the blaze. The structure was destroyed by the fire, Sheets said.
Also assisting at the scene was Memorial EMS. All units reported back to their stations around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, the chief said.
