For the second consecutive year, First Citizens Community Bank, headquartered in Mansfield, Pa., has contributed $50,000 to support educational programs throughout the region. With recent budget cuts seriously impacting our area's K-12 public schools, First Citizens Community Bank has recognized an opportunity to step up and assist local schools with financial support. The contribution was made through BLaST Intermediate Unit 17, an educational service agency that assists school districts in Bradford, Lycoming, Sullivan and Tioga counties.

BLaST Intermediate Unit 17's Educational Enhancement Foundation is distributing this funding among Canton Area School District, Northeast Bradford School District, Sayre Area School District, Southern Tioga School District, Troy Area School District and Wellsboro Area School District. The funds are being utilized to support initiatives such as financial literacy programs, online learning, and curriculum development, which would otherwise need to be funded with taxpayer dollars.

First Citizens Community Bank is pleased to establish a deeper partnership with area schools to help develop our future leaders. On behalf of local school districts, BLaST Intermediate Unit 17 is very appreciative of the bank's generosity and community mindedness in support of public education.
