The First Friday Christmas Parade Committee will be taking sign ups for the 2012 Annual Christmas Parade until Monday, Dec. 3.

The 2012 First Friday Downtown Towanda Christmas Parade will be presented by your First Friday Businesses that kick off the First Friday events at 5 p.m., Dec. 7. The parade will begin at 7 p.m. starting at Elm St. (formerly Plank Rd) and run through Main Street ending at corner of Main and Elizabeth. Santa and Santa's Second String Reindeer will be placed in the Midtown Parking lot after the parade where children can spend time meeting Santa. Santa will have little gifts for the girls and boys.

Parade organizers are asking participation from area businesses, churches, civic organizations and families to be a part of the parade with entering a float or walking in the parade. Those who are interested can email their information to Sharon Kaminsky or call 265-3080.

This year will mark the fourth year of the parade, which has been coordinated by the First Friday Downtown Towanda Committee.
