A fun time exploded on Friday, Aug. 27, at the Sheshequin-Ulster Community Center at its Back-to-School Blast - an evening of action-packed games for kids of all ages.

A total of 32 kids were actively engaged in a variety of activities, including volleyball, basketball, ping pong, ring toss, beanbag throw, and group games such as hot seat, skunk tag and Tarzan/Gorilla/Jane. Not only did kids have an awesome time playing, being goofy, and hanging out together, but they also won game prizes and were entered into grand prize drawings as well ($50 Walmart gift card, $25 iTunes gift card, $10 Burger King certificate, and Jenga game).

The Sheshequin-Ulster Community Center Board wishes to thank the following businesses for their generous prize donations: Bishops Mini Mart, Dandy Mini Marts, New Generation Church, and Bonanza. The board also wishes to thank the following individuals for their time and energy in running this event: Jeff Crosby of Youth Outreach Unlimited, Chris and Elaine Kinner, Tom and Jen Delp, Bradley Crane, Jeremy Palfreyman and Cora Williams.

More youth-centered community programs such as roller-skating, basketball and holiday parties are in store for area children as fall and winter quickly approach. If you have a talent or community event to share, would like an opportunity to volunteer, or would like to use the Sheshequin Ulster Community Center, please visit the Web site at www.thereccenter.org.
