Towanda High School Principal Robert Prettyman accepted an ink drawing of the Bradford County Courthouse from Leon O' Hart who completed the art piece for hanging at the school.
Two former area residents Kevin Dalpiaz of Monroeton and Tim Flynn of Towanda were honored for their service as volunteer firefighters in the Harrisburg area.

Bradford-Sullivan Counties Pomona Grange met with a record attendance of 172 at time of roll call. All but seven of the thirty five granges were represented.
Towanda Area Board of Education and the faculty are interested in knowing whether the people of the area desire to have a summer school program started in the Towanda Area Joint High School.

Liberty Corners Grange met in regular session and enjoyed a Valentine Party, the Heart Capturing prize was won by Marie Elliott and the Heart Piercing Contest by Marian Marcy.
At the Ulster High School speaking contest, Esther Hayward won for the girls with a selection from "Camille" and Ralph Horton won for the boys with "I Am A Jew."
