The Wyalusing Valley Joint School Board disposed of two of its unused elementary buildings last weekend with the sale of the Wyalusing Borough school and the New Albany Borough building.
Four Mansfield State College seniors will begin a semester of student teaching at Towanda Area High School beginning Jan. 28: Martin Victor Cohen of Athens; Alex Dunne of Sayre; Mary Herrick of Waverly; and Richard Vail of Sayre.

75 years ago - 1938
The Tunkhannock Conservation Club held what was probably the first coyote hunt ever to be held in Pennsylvania last Sunday morning, when the entire Avery Mountain and Lane Hill territories were hunted over.
Realizing that not only the basketball teams should have physical education, the authorities at Wyalusing High School have organized volleyball teams among the student body.
Midnight tomorrow will mark the expiration of the legal time for the use of 1937 automobile license plates. Motor police at Towanda have been directed to arrest all people driving cars with 1937 license plates after that.

One year ago: Rescue workers scrambled aboard the stricken Costa Concordia cruise liner, seeking to help some 4,200 passengers the day after the ship ran aground and tipped over off Italy's Tuscan coast; the death toll from the tragedy eventually reached 25 with seven missing and presumed dead. Miss Wisconsin Laura Kaeppeler won the Miss America pageant in Las Vegas.
