David A. Bertauski, vice president of nursing at Robert Packer Hospital and senior vice president of the Robert Packer Hospital School of Nursing has been named the interim chief executive officer at Troy Community Hospital.
Two Sayre students will be participating in the District VIII Band Festival in Berwick, Pa.: Jill McConnell and Amy Evans.
Michael E. Gambal of Towanda RD 1 has been named to the Dean's List for the fall semester at Keystone Junior College.

The block at 409 Main Street, Towanda, formerly occupied by The Barney Loewus Style Shop, has been purchased by Attorney M.L. Epstein of Sayre and Abe Chernosky of Towanda, proprietor of Superior Paint and Wallpapers store, which he plans to move into the space formerly kept by the style shop.
The senior choir members of the Windfall Methodist Church raised the funds for new robes, and the junior choir members made them.
William Bowman of Williamsport will start teaching mathematics and science at Northeast Bradford Joint High School.

Burgess A.T. Morse received a letter from a newspaper editor in Burlington, N.C., asking for information as to the origin of the name of Burlington Borough, its population, industries, etc., for a feature story about the history of various Burlingtons around the nation.
The Bradford County Historical Society received several gifts recently, including: a lantern used by the grandfather of Joseph McCabe in Ireland; a handmade hoe brought from Ireland used by Larman H. Elliot, one of the pioneers of Rome; and a collection of World War II relics.
