The Towanda Police Benevolent Association will be hosting its first shoot this coming Saturday at the Bridge Street Hill Rod and Gun Club. This competition is open to all law enforcement personnel.

Retired Towanda Postmaster Richard Snell and wife Catherine attended a gala retirement party hosted in their honor recently at the Towanda Elks Club in recognition of Snell's nearly 40 years of service with the Postal Service.

The third annual Fall Foliage Festival is being held at the Towanda Airport grounds. The event began yesterday and continues today with more balloon launchings and other activities.

Francis Sullivan, chairman of the Bradford County Democratic Committee, announced yesterday that Jerry Hughes of Athens has been appointed as publicity chairman of the party in Bradford County.

Leaf-burning time has arrived in Towanda and Borough Manager George Snell requests that no leaves be burned in the streets or in the gutter close enough to the streets to damage the road surface.

The largest machine to be installed at Canford Manufacturing Corp., Canton, was delivered from M.P.M. Division of Koehring Mfg. Corp., Mount Gilead, Ohio, recently. This machine has a 450-ton clamp capacity and can be used to mold various plastic products up to 80 ounces per piece.
