The purchase of additional computer equipment is planned by the Bradford County Commissioners. Advertisements for bids for a new computer system to enhance the county's present digital equipment system will be placed by Chief Clerk Gary Wood.

The financing is now all in place and indications were given yesterday that the construction start of the long-awaited Wysox Municipal Authority sewer project will be getting under way this fall.

The Bradford County Humane Society shelter is serving as a temporary home for a goat, which was found wandering in the Asylum Township area.

50 years ago - 1962

There was a turn-out of 250 teenagers at the Halloween Teen Dance held Oct. 26 at the SCI Community Center. Contests included the Twist, the Limbo, the Cha-Cha and the best round dance.

Curtis L. Dickerson of Towanda was re-elected moderator of the North Branch Association of Universalist Churches for another year at a meeting held yesterday.

Tonight at 7 p.m. children of Towanda and the general area will devote their Halloween fun to a constructive purpose. They will go trick-or-treating to collect donations for UNICEF.

75 years ago - 1937

After being located for the past four years in the quarters formerly occupied by Harry Buren, Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Swank have moved their confectionery shop across the street into one of the modern store sites in Towanda.

Those planning to enter floats or novelties in the Halloween parade in Towanda are asked to get in touch with Ash Parsons. First prize in the float division is $5, second is $3 and third is $2; in the novelty division, first prize is $3, second is $2 and third is $1.

Celebrating her birthday today is Ramona Vanderpool of Wysox, who is 9 years old and in the third grade of the Fisher School.
