At their meeting last night, Canton Borough Council accepted the resignation of two borough councilmen: Council President Dean Morgan and Max Reynard.
The Sullivan County Commissioners approved the transfer of $30,070.50 in former Day Care funds to the county's general fund, at their meeting yesterday. Commissioner George Miller said the money, which is left over from previous grants, in the future might be used to move the county's Children and Youth Department to an office in Laporte.
Nearly 200 members and guests of the Athens Senior Citizens Club attended their annual Christmas banquet, held at the Sayre VFW. Music for singing Christmas carols and for dancing was furnished by Ralph Bartlet, Don Howard, Dick Maloney and Leland Coe.

Word has been passed out in Granville Summit that after Jan. 1, what is known as the morning 9 o'clock passenger train and the afternoon 5 o'clock will be discontinued. No official notice as yet has been received.
