Fifty aerobic dancers from the Valley area helped to raise $2,015.35 by participating in the Aerobic Dance for Heart Marathon at the Sayre High School gym.
Two new handsome trophy cases have been placed in the lobby of the Towanda High School to display school honors accorded in athletics, cheerleading and band activities.

Attorney Andrew B. Duvall was named president of the Memorial Hospital Association Board of Directors. He succeeds Marion Barnes.
No Burlington people saw a groundhog on Groundhog's Day, but a bear showed up to dine on meat scraps and old bones thrown in a barrel at the rear of the Gilbert A. Waldron market.

The Treasury Department has announced that bids will be opened March 4 for furnishing all labor and materials and performing all work for construction of a United States Post Office in Towanda. It is expected the building will be erected on the site opposite the Ford garage on South Main Street.
Malcolm M. McNett of Canton was awarded his degree from Pennsylvania State College.
