The Jones Home Bakery is scheduled to open for business tomorrow morning at 402 Main Street, Towanda. This is the quarters formerly occupied by the Sample Shop.
Dr. John M. Higgins of Sayre was elected president of the First National Bank of Sayre recently.
The Wyalusing Borough Council, at the request of the Borough School Board, agreed to remove the 35 mile per hour signs on Route 6 from the northern entrance to Wyalusing to the intersection of Church and State streets and to cover the large "35" on the sign at the north end of State Street with a "School Zone" sign.
75 years ago - 1937
Sixteen members of Troop 1, Towanda Boy Scouts, spent Saturday and Saturday night at Camp Brule. The boys enjoyed skating, coasting and hiking through the woods as well as other winter sports.
Furniture selection and arrangement will be discussed by Miss Elizabeth Baxter, home economics extension representative, at the home of Mrs. Henry Motyer tomorrow.
Miss Olive Weigester, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Weigester, who has attended the Parsons School of Fine and Applied Art in New York City for three years, has won the Paris scholarship for the coming year.
