Wyalusing's Sam Bocchino at 119 pounds notched a PIAA Class AA wrestling championship in Hershey, becoming the first Wyalusing grappler to ever win a state title.
At the annual "Perfect Impressions" color guard competition hosted by Towanda's Top Hats, this year's Top Hats Booster award went to David Coolbaugh.
Dave Kennedy of Athens is the new PIAA Class AA state wrestling champion at 126 pounds.

Celebrating his birthday today is Gerald W. Vickery of Troy, chairman of the Bradford County Republican Committee, county coroner and junior member of the basketball combine of Calkins and Vickery.
Three senior FFA boys of Turnpike Area High School have won awards in the state wildlife conservation contest by the Pa. Fish and Game Commission. John McDonald, Robert Decker and Durwood Miller won second, third and fourth places out of 35 boys entered in the northeast district.
Richard M. Sweitzer has opened an office for the practice of architecture at 10 Cherry St., Towanda.
75 years ago - 1935
Walter Chamberlain, well-known local plumber, has taken over the shop on Bridge Street, formerly occupied by Harold R. Tuthill.
At Towanda High School, hot lunches will end with the Easter vacation unless there are enough students who will buy their lunch to make it necessary to continue.
At Towanda High School, the physics class, which consists of only seven members, is studying artificial lighting systems - also proper windows.
