Marking the end of the Winter Term, Pennsylvania State University over the weekend conferred degrees of 562 candidates, including Bradford Countians Robert Wheeler, Arden Wrisley, Nancy Theetge and Gertrude Gerlach.
The Troy Cal-Vics got away to a fast start in their exhibition game with the Harlem Astronauts on the Athens High court over the weekend, but lost the decision 92-68.
75 years ago - 1938
A memorial scroll for 26 deceased members of Towanda Post No. 42, American Legion, has been completed and will be formally presented in the near future. Made on California basswood, the ornamental part and the names of the deceased members are burnt in the wood.
Celebrating their 51st wedding anniversary are Mr. and Mrs. Robert Doane of Windham.
The rifle team of the Towanda Rifle Club wound up its Tioga-Bradford league season recently with a victory and a tie. This gives the Towanda team tree victories and one tie, and the possession of the 1938 trophy.
