Wyalusing residents participated in an open meeting recently with borough council members to provide input for the use of $79,000 received by the borough in Level 1 Urban Development Action Grant Funds. Council's suggested use for the money includes engineering costs for the upcoming water project.

The first two weekends of qualifying in the eighth annual Daily Review Doubles Tournament is over. Highest team scoring honors for the weekend shifts went to the team of Vicki and Jim Reynolds who teamed up to roll 1286.

Mansfield University will offer five non-credit classes in March. Courses from estate planning and computer word processing to personal development for the professional woman will be offered.

50 years ago - 1963

Four Bradford County boroughs were among 12 north-central Pennsylvania communities ordered yesterday by the state sanitary water board to stop discharging untreated sewage into area streams. Cited for action within two years were Athens, Canton, Sayre and Wyalusing.

Lonnie Frawley, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Frawley of Towanda and a graduate of St. Agnes High School, has been elected president of the student body at Scranton University.

Reynald L. Harkness, 17, of Gillett, has been selected as the member of the Future Farmers of America to receive the H.C. Fetterolf cup for 1963.

Celebrating his 89th birthday today is W.E. Sturdevant of Silvara, who was born in 1849 and is the oldest resident in Silvara.

The LeRaysville-New Albany High School teams will meet on the SCI court next week to open their series for the championship of their division. The winner will meet South Waverly for the BCAA title.

The resignation of Fred. S. Deyo as treasurer of Tioga Mills Inc., Waverly, was announced yesterday. He is well known and popular in Waverly and is a member of the Waverly Rotary Club.
