The Bradford County Picnic (Florida Branch) recently held its annual meeting in Kissimmee, Fla., with 300 people attending.

Celebrating his birthday today is Earl Messersmith of New Albany.

Crowds of people gathered over the weekend at Towanda High School for the Bradford County Chapter-International Management Council Business and Industrial Show. The show provided a means for looking at new products as well as gaining information and collecting souvenirs given out by some of the businesses represented at the event.

50 years ago - 1962

The purchase of two 60-passenger buses for the Waverly Central District was approved by the voters present during a special school district meeting yesterday.

A spring storm dumped considerable snow on Sullivan County yesterday, there being three inches at Forksville and six inches at Shunk. Since the Highway Department in Sullivan County has had its snow plows repainted and stored away until next winter, none was able to clear the highways.

The Robert Packer Hospital Guthrie Clinic was the featured institution in the March issue of "Resident Physician," a medical journal for the hospital staff officers.

George Beebe, son of Mr. and Mrs. R.C. Beebe of Sayre, won first place recently in the ex tempore speaking contest at Bloomsburg and will represent the northeastern district in the state Forensic League session.
