Marion Rider, 6, of Towanda, was seen boarding a school bus owned and operated by Wilbur Beers of Myersburg, as she headed to St. Agnes School in Towanda for the first day of classes.
The Backwoods Cloggers from Lime Creek, N.Y. near Buffalo, "kicked up their heels" for the audience at the Bluegrass Festival held yesterday at Big Pond.
Andrea Loggins displayed some of her handmade dolls and stuffed animals at a table at the Fun, Food, Farm and Flea Market held yesterday afternoon on the grounds of the Sayre First United Methodist Church. Rev. Earl Roberts, pastor of the church, said that this year's crowd "was the biggest the church has ever seen for this event."

J. Paul Shay, 217 Poplar St., Towanda, has received word from the Department of State, Commission for Professional and Occupational Affairs, that he has been appointed as field investigator for the commissioner of this department.
Billie Sue Roberts, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Roberts of the Towanda-Monroeton Road, is five years old today.
Republicans for miles around the county responded last evening to the invitation to come to the Wysox Recreation Park with families, friends and relatives for the annual Republican summer picnic.
